New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Yeah but the Aviva? You'd be gutted if your country got to the late stages and had to go their for it.
Why? How many matches have you been to at it? It's a very modern stadium, 15 mins walk from the centre of Dublin. It's pretty much a perfect venue.

Croke Park would've been better but the cost to "Uefa" the stadium for a one off tournament was not justifiable.

Apologies I've just noticed your username. It's nothing personal.

How can you explain to me having a last 16 and quarter final at this? How do you decide which nations fans have this end?

Why would I take it personally?

So it's shape? Is that it? It has the same capacity as our stadium. What a strange grumble to have.

Doesn’t really tell the whole story of the ground mate, architecturally it’s beautiful and design unique, slap bang in the City Centre.

The Echo are apparently running a story from an hour ago that the reason The Hole Punch Stadium wasn't considered for the Euros, like it isn't for any other major tournament, is because the pitch is too small.

Get on this @davek

In other news, Everton Football Club have hosted World Cup Final matches featuring some of the greats of world football and are set to showcase their magnificent new stadium at Euro 2028 while Anfield can at least boast it has hosted Taylor Swift and The Foo Fighters.

That doesn't sell it to me. I'm sure the European fans would rather be at Everton stadium or the wales national stadium than that.

It'll put a dampener on the tournament I'm sure.

It reminds of that stadium in euro 2004 in Portugal which had a cliff behind the goal. Dissolved all atmosphere.

As I say it’s not even the biggest stadium in Dublin……it will be fine for an event like the Euros.

I think it’s already hosted the UEFA Cup Final - but I might be making that up.

Also every image reminds me of this.

I get you're Irish and proud and I respect that.

It’s nothing to with being Irish mate, as I say it’s not even my favourite stadium in Dublin or the biggest fir that matter, I’m actually on record on here as being critical of how it was built and it’s impact. But it’s a beautiful piece of architecture and a lovely ground, facilities are top as well.

I’ve been to SJP and Villa Park - it’s far far superior stadium to both tbh, lightyears, so I wouldn’t stress.
