Have a day off manNo, I'm not.
They're interconnected.
If that stadium had EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB on the exterior and the seats were spelling out the club and our mottos etc then there'd be no argument.
That isn't the case though and this stadium just screams out H*** D******** to the world and the talk of it as a multi-function space etc etc further undermines our control over what IS our stadium...in every respect...or should be.
Until those issues are addressed this isn't our stadium. We may play there and the match coverage associates us with the stadium, it will never be home as things stand.
I suggest Everton do something about that before the novelty of this 'facility' wears off.

Like it or not football clubs are now a business and have got to bring as much money as possible from any available source..Let's first establish that stadium as:
a) a football stadium
and
b) Everton's football stadium
...before we have a 'facility' almost as well known for putting on rugby games, music concerts, Christmas markets...and probably panto's.....oh yes they will!
Of course. I already conceded that. No one is saying "don't hold non-football events" out of purity. My point is that this is primarily the home of Everton Football Club, but that's not reflected on the exterior of the stadium - where's our name?; where's the player and manager statues? And nor is it reflected in the inside of the stadium - where are the stands or lounges named after our greats?; or on the pitch side of things - where's the seats with Everton FC or NSNO on them?Like it or not football clubs are now a business and have got to bring as much money as possible from any available source..
Once upon a time there was a football club who spent more than they earned, they had to face a commission to explain this behavior and they got docked 8 points, then a few years later some of the fans of this club moaned about the club attempting to maximize profits by hosting other events at their ground..
I could be well off, but the club used to use Sodexo who'd rotate, largely retained staff between Goodison, Anfield, Aintree etc.
They've gone with Aramark UK for the new stadium, and it feels like every match day has a lot of people working their first day.
Could it be tied in with the restructuring and asset moving from Goodison?Of course. I already conceded that. No one is saying "don't hold non-football events" out of purity. It's just not, and that needs changing. Quickly.
Corporates walking all over Everton fans. I hate to say it but there's no way that lot over there would wear it, and rightly so.
I think too many people wallow in the history of the club rather than the now. History wins you nothing. Also bear in mind that the key was getting the ground open and much is still in progress. I think a giant Doughnut situated outside would signal the start of our new era.Of course. I already conceded that. No one is saying "don't hold non-football events" out of purity. Nothing to do with history; it's a matter of underlining who we are and where we play.I think too many people wallow in the history of the club rather than the now. History wins you nothing. I here you and I somewhat agree.Nothing to do with history; it's a matter of underlining who we are and where we play.
Bending over backwards just to make a case for the corporate control of this stadium is just mad if you're a supporter.
Probably when they’re finished getting walloped.the big question is when do taylor swift and sabrina carpenter play their concerts at the hill dicky?
Yeah don't get pulled in !Disagree, there will be a lot of people who are either not bothered at all or a tiny bit miffed by it.
I very much doubt that a lot of people will be 'angry'. I mean there are some thing to get angry about, but some lines from a previous game played on a football pitch is 100% not one of them. Maybe there will be a few dotted around getting red in the face at some lines on the pitch, that are not football lines. If you get angry at that then you need to get some perspective in your life.
Mr Hyperbole strikes again, I am actually disappointed in myself for even responding to the obvious bait to reel people like me in.
Seems others prefer the obstructed view, the below standard food and warm beerThe Stadium is just bloody lovely though isnt it.
Think of it as a young family moving into their new home. Over time memories will be created, pictures hung and a fondness for the place will become a part of their hearts. They can’t being everything from the old house to dress the new place up with so will have to do it piece by piece.Nothing to do with history; it's a matter of underlining who we are and where we play.
