I would have still kept Barry on personally. Yes it was an awfull miss, but he is improving parts of his game each time we see him, and giving him a bit of faith to make up for that error rather than dragging him off once again doesn't help, he now carries that miss in his head plus a big lack of faith/backing from the manager. Knowing that you are going to be hauled off each game for a player that offers no more than you, isn't good for either.

In my mind and I think Moyes's too, he was a stupid elbow or lazy tackle away from being sent off after the booking. After our goal and their first booking the Sunderland players were making the most of every tackle hoping to get anyone carded. I thought he was playing well but after that miss, just felt it wasn't going to be his night and it would have been so Everton if he then been sent off for an innocuous avoidable tackle.

He needs time and patience, better service and it will come naturally. He offered so much more than Beto.

Every time I watch Beto he seems more interested in wrestling with the defender, backing into him to show his strenght and actually completely ignoring the ball or thinking about losing his man.

Still disappointed, more in some of the decisions by Moyes.
I love JOB but he’s not mobile enough for a full back, Garner suits it better.
McNeil substitution baffled me.
He looked miles off the pace and Moyes should have known.
We had a youngster who cost 50M, why wasn’t he on instead.
I’ve been Moyes biggest supporter but he needs to freshen things up, including his tactics and subs.
I have been Moyes biggest critic and still am he does not have a clue which are his best players and don't even mention his transfer buys or his tactics or even his substitutes. please do won.

I hope that was the reasoning behind it, he needs a run of games, Not a run of disappointments.

I think I can safely say we got away with one there. The first half hour and last 10 minutes aside they had us on the back foot. It's beyond me why he brought McNeil on, and why 14 people voted him MoM, he did nothing apart from giving the ball away.

I went for Michael Keane as my MoM, he is a completely different player to the walking disaster area of 12 months ago.
Keane has been our most consistent defender if not player this season.

Haha! I suspect 14 people are having a bit of fun as that was an embarrassment of a performance from McNeil, should have been subbed back off after 10 minutes to show the players it wasn’t acceptable.

I think we can say we were unlucky, Garner almost scored after 10 seconds, Grealish hit the post, Barry missed from 2 yards and we had a couple of chances late on to win it too. Sunderland offered little and we were comfortable holding them.

they had more shots more on target more possession more passes
so sorry cant say we were unlucky
great 20 mins then very poor

We always hear how the likes of Pickford or Coleman or Tarks etc are great leaders, good to have in the squad, good influence on the kids blah blah blah but none of them ever get the game by the scruff of the neck and drag the rest of them to a win.

Seems like a long time since we had anyone with that sort of presence in the team.
A Peter Reid type, snapping and snarling, unfortunately I don't see many knocking about these days😒

I am afraid that something is not right with Dibling's attitude. He possess superb skills but when he was on the pitch he didn't look eager enough. At least it looked to me like that

Was saying something similar to my brother. A big money move I expected him to run and run and run, trying to do something to impress, and he's young.
I thought the innocence of youth would have him trying all sorts of things but he seems intimidated, almost like he's not sure if he belongs.
He doesn't give the ball away though so thats a plus, I'm sure there'll be loads to come once he gets his confidence.
I'm ok with him to be honest, probably my own fault for expecting fireworks.

Look I’m not saying you weren’t good for the first 30 mins and had some fantastic chances. But if I might, I think there’s a little bit of the blue tinted specs there.

Second half you had an XG of 0.02.

We had what was probably a penalty chalked off for the handball, had a fantastic save from Pickford and there was the free header where he should have done far better. There was also the numerous blocked shots etc, which you never know when they ping in (one of them nearly did). To say we offered “little” isn’t entirely fair.

I think a draw was a fair result and as a Sunderland fan I’m happy with it, but equally we could have won that on another day, as could you.

I agree, we were abysmal second half. McNeil was mind bogglingly bad. Still a great stadium and i can still remember the Roker Roar!!
