2025/26 David Moyes

Swapping Barry for Beto on 55 mins or 80 mins would have made no difference and been whinged at both ways.
Not by me. If they're both going to stink the gaff out, I'd rather it was the one who's got any vague potential to get better that we were giving minutes to.

The thing that is annoying me a lot is that Beto doesn't get dragged off at half time or after 55 mins when he's putting in laughable performances, but Barry is being given no lenience whatsoever.

I've bitten my tongue so far this season largely, but watching that last night and the 40 mins of abject dross that Beto served up after he came on, while seeing how Barry's confidence seemed to take a hit as he was taken off made me rage.

If the likes of Dibling, Aznou & Alcaraz were being integrated...or there was something I could see as a pathway for them.

If Rohl and Barry were getting consistent minutes each game to allow them to adjust to the league. If with Iroegbunam we could see that he's definitively the Gana replacement or just a sub option.

If confidence and fight were shown for 90mins in a single premier league game with front foot or counter attacking football.

Maybe I'd have something to cling to and believe in.

Instead, Dwight McNeil ????
Yeah, the McNeil one broke me a bit last night. He gave the ball away with 6 of his first 7 touches and in total only managed 3 completed passes to an Everton player (one of which was a corner).

Genuinely one of the worst cameos I have seen in years. And yet he was given game time over the likes of Dibling who we've allegedly got big hopes for.

They will be sounding out managers, make no
Mistake about that. And if it gets a desperate then they may have to take a gamble. And that’s utter rubbish there’s nobody available who’s a significant upgrade. There’s plenty of better managers in 2025 out there.
Here’s an idea go and poach a better one
Enlighten me then mate. Who are the better managers that you want who would be a big upgrade and would also seriously consider joining us right now? If there's "plenty" then you should have no problem listing them off.

Don't like him, don't want him

But I agree with those saying we shouldn't be sacking mid season again UNLESS we are in real trouble (which we are not, and I doubt we will be) OR the new guys have a proper plan with a manager they have identified that will come and that can take us forward. (I don't trust we will have, so prefer this gets done in the summer and early)

Emery joined Villa in a relegation scrap having been in the championship 2yrs previously. Depends on our owners ambition. If they are happy for the HD to turn into a morgue and to plod about it the bottom half, then keep Moyes.
Comes down to TFG

He's flushed the best part £110M down the toilet as far as I can make out. If you dont play them (Aznou, Dibling and Rohl) or you play them as bit part players (Alcaraz) they're effectively waste.

These players are all available to a team that's faltering but go unused. And if I could take a guess Ild say they aren't being used either for political purposes in internal power struggles with the assembled 'transfer committee' or for personal animosity reasons with particular player being frozen out.

That's not an answer mate. You said "There's plenty of better manager in 2025 out there" yet you haven't named one. If there's plenty of them available like you say then it really shouldn't be difficult for you to name at least one of them.

To step in here.

This will depend on money.

Money for manager wages & new players.

If TFG go after a top manager and make him top 6 salary wise and splash another £150mil (mirroring the amount in the summer) then we should expect a top coach.
