A lot better than Beto tonight but that wasn't hard.
Miss aside ( which was bloody dreadful ) he was ok. Just ok though. Still not good enough by a long shot. Doesn't look like he van get past a defender, doesnt look alert in the box, simply doesnt look like a 27m player and just looks to me like we've spunked a load of money on a player not suited to PL football.
Tough gig being a striker in this team.

It's a really really bad miss but I think we played better with him than Beto.

Ball is fizzed in, over another attacker and defenders head and he’s taken it on the volley and got too much on it.

I just think of one point in the 1st half were the ball actually went out. And he's twisting and turning. looking up into the air for the ball

It is but a part of that is because neither of our strikers are very good at retaining possession or finding space to build an attack. Slide a ball into them and you've got a 50% chance your next move will be running back to your own box to stop the opposition counter.

Feel really sorry for him.
Confidence is so important for all footballers, but particularly strikers, and really don’t think Moyes man management has helped him at all to settle into a new team and league.

Starts again on Saturday for me. It would be fair to say he's not exactly shone, but he has at least managed to link up with our players at times and not make me worried any time he goes near the ball that his first touch is going to cause a counter attack against us, because that's what the other fella offers.
