New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I'm not surprised when two of the 'Founding Partners' are Red Bull and Budweiser.

It's nauseating this corporate hijacking of the club

The stadium is great: it looks great and it's about as good as we could have expected, but my God do we pay a heavy price for that in terms of being forced to play second fiddle to a load of corporate entities who see Everton fans as an easily pushed around stage army to anchor the 'facility' and exploit as they cast the net for other 'events' and 'customers' also to exploit.

They make me 'kin sick. They're abhorrent. The whole notion of these slugs being central to the early discussions about how our stadium was laid out in order to maximise fan exploitation is creepy.

Agreed Dave. I wouldn't have stood for it. I did say this is abhorrent and they just chuckled.

We're a victim of the capitalism machine.

One of the driving factors for planning permission for the stadium build was based on Everton allowing red to be shown throughout the stadium? Have i just got that right and that is what you meant?

You don't think this is one of the things that grants a license to a new stadium to host external events?

Not once in that whole 3 hour event yesterday did the cameras turn toward the city of Liverpool to show our spectacular environs we're nestled among.

That's a feature of all our coverage so far. Barring the first game against Brighton where we saw one long shot of that backdrop there's been no sighting of that city centre beyond the stadium and we just see a stadium foregrounded against a sewage treatment works and north Liverpool. That's because they've been told to get that H*** D******** name on the south stand in every single shot of the stadium.

It's a huge loss to us in terms of reclaiming the city, which is what we all hoped this stadium would do.

The club have accepted a deal with the corporate world that suits them and only them.

Wait until the euros and “L*verpool” is front and centre on the advertising hoardings. The club needs to act quick to stop that. I won’t be watching our stadium tarnished with that drivel. As usual the rats will lap it up. Honestly I’m done with it the dice are loaded against us time after time. I used to enjoy going the game now it’s just a proper chore and a waist of a weekend.

If this stadium is still promoted and seen as a generalised event facility by then you wont be alone.

We need to see this stadium claimed as an Everton home ground. Right now it's not. It's a great stadium - there's no question about that. But this isn't an Everton stadium. Not yet it isn't. Not by a long chalk. It's a corporate entertainment space. And that'll ramp up when the summer music events are announced.

We need them, of course. But we are desperate to stamp our identity on the stadium too, and not allowing 'Everton' anywhere substantially on or inside that stadium is killing us in that respect. Everyone here knows it too. It'll be the site of struggle at this club in the coming months and years. Absolutely nailed on it will be.

Atrended the Ashes match today - great atmosphere. Had an excellent view however the leg room was by far the worst I've ever experienced at a football stadium - cannot stress how bad it was. Not even close to fitting in. Ended up standing the whole match. Saw others do the same. Even my 5 1/2 ft wife struggled. I've sat in 5 other areas across HDS which have all been ok. Avoid Block 021 row 18 (directly in front of the wheelchair area) if you can.
