New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Both of the nightclub ones have giant screens showing a game and put the guitarist in front of them. Making sure they turn the volume to full blast so you can't even speak to your mates.

I could just about cope having someone with a guitar in the outdoor area or in a corner without the mega speakers on full blast. Do they think we are going to their venues to listen to the live act?
Mates started going back to black horse again might do myself the bars up there are crap...

For the live sky and tnt games they have more cameras at the ground than there normally would be. If it’s not on either of those channels live, there will be less cameras, and those areas you have pointed out will have fans in them.
Sounds like a bizarre explanation to me.

If they're empty how are they functioning as a camera location. 🤔

I've never heard of this before. Is it done in other PL grounds where sections of seating are left unoccupied for a camera position 🤔

I like the ground.

Can we ban dickheads with guitars in the boozers tho? Absolutely sick of it.

Yep. Many others won't go the wind factory or the other scatty place before because of it.

You’re all spot on . As I said earlier I don’t understand it or who wants it . In about half a century of watching Everton I’ve never thought or heard someone suggest “I wish this boozer had a singer on “.

Who’s it for ? For me it’s not for our fanbase demographic. It’s not for the people I have a beer with , nor anyone else I know and the songs aren’t likely to thrill a younger crowd . I get it works for the RS and I bet their tourists love it but it doesn’t feel remotely appropriate for us , I might be wrong but I don’t think I am .

It also doesn’t feel like a coincidence that the blue house a boozer run by blues is about the only one that swerves it . I was delighted yesterday when I discovered Murphy’s singer hadn’t turned up .

I was in the terrace bar after the Brighton game.

Having a great time in the sun, chatting away to everyone with the backround noise of the late game on. Just how you want it.

It was all ruined when they brought on some lad with his guitar.

It has genuinely ruined all those places round the ground.
The IWF didn’t have speakers outside so there were loads of blues out the back , next home game they’d rigged it up.

I simply can’t understand it, does anybody like it ? Who are they catering to ?

It’s sound if it’s a good result and a few beers in and the next song comes on the pub Spotify or whatever and everyone gets involved but that’s different to some bloke singing

Originally, you had to show your ticket at the perimeter wall to get into the plaza pre-match, but that's slowly slipped away and it's now a bag check.

They had the metal detectors back up, which aren't always there, although I don't think they were being fully monitored.
I just glare at the stewards and walk through . Most of them are kids they couldn't care less. But I don't know why they ever had perimeter wall checks when you can't get in the stadium without a ticket.

Second visit yesterday and could see the improvement already. Improvement is the wrong word, more things settling down sort of thing. Last time the queues were rough but yesterday it was all seamless. Minimal waiting and plenty of concourse space to watch the early game without people bouncing off you. Half time was again very efficient for food/drink and Gents have had more urinals added which was much needed.

Special mention to the stewards who were very friendly and also to the Door Staff in Ten Street Social. Good Blues.

There has been quite a few critical comments from away fans about the atmosphere but I've not been overly impressed with any of the away supports that have come so far.

It might be different if you're nearer them but I can see most of the away section from my seat and they've all had a similar and expected pattern. I've not been blown away noise wise by any. They've been vocal during times they've had something to shout about but all been stood in silence when we've been on top.

Yet when we have a poor performance or periods of creating nothing it seems expected that our atmosphere should be bouncing.

If we'd have won 3-0 on Sunday the Spurs atmosphere would have been flat and the home end loud/bouncing for a lot of the game. A good result/performance is the main driver of atmosphere.

At the first event or two, it was for safety reasons, in the sense that there were concerns many non-ticket holders would want to circulate the stadium.

The requirement for a ticket meant they could guarantee how many were on the plaza to help reduce over-crowding and ease of access to turnstiles.

It also had a part in the licensing aspect, because the club are permitted to sell alcohol within the perimeter wall, but with that comes responsibilities.

Now, it's a matter of safety really (or the optics of it) as football events are still primary targets for any potential attackers, so it's a layer of security.
