No one will say there isn't a chance, there's always a chance of anything, but to be flapping your arse in October is mental.
Yep, As you say there's always a chance of anything. Twist it the other way around and a win yesterday and we would have been 10th, 3points off 3rd placed Sunderland who we obviously play next week. All is tight and so much to play for, with a long time to go

I'd be more concerned if we didn't have a 6 point gap on 18th at this stage. Chasing points is scarier than just trying to extend a gap.

Same want to see now this team comes
Out now after loosing at home for the first time. At a tough game away at sunderland full of confidence

Nobody is “flapping their arse”. It is a distinct possibility which can be talked about on a football forum for talking about Everton’s performance this season.

I don’t see you demanding nobody talks about arranging their holidays around our away games in Europe next season.

I can tell you now which of these two outcomes are more likely..

Please find me someone saying this and being serious about it.

Yesterday wasn't a three nil game as well! (despite it being three nil)

I do find it a bit mad how people seem to just ignore the fact that the scoreline will influence how the game pans out. If you’re already 2-0 up away from home at half time you’re not going to be that bothered about just sitting back and seeing it out, people acting as if they just couldn’t get out of their own half because we were so good is a bit of a weird take. Same happened after the derby.

Downward momentum is what nearly did us in in the 21/22 season. We were 5th a handful of weeks ago and we are now 14th. We definitely need to arrest the slide soon.

Yeh of course we do, we can't slide for weeks and weeks and still be okay, but right now it's very premature. The league is very, very tight still.

Thing is - the league is still very close between like 6th to 16th, so obviously nothing should be considered insurmountable at this early stage. The issue I see though is that, out of those 10 or so teams it's only really the reds (ironically) who are on a worse run than us currently. 'Arresting the slide' is super important as the worst thing that could happen to us now given the early optimism is that we somehow conspire to be hovering just above the bottom three again for most of the season.

Moyes absolutely needs to sort this out asap otherwise, yes, there is genuine danger that we can't truly pull well away from dross like West Ham and Wolves..

Unfortunately I have...and i am concerned...we just need a results against a Sunderland in form team, simple...anything else and we are in the fight.

The Xmas period has:

Burnley away- Boxing Day

Forest away- December 30th

Brentford home- January 3rd

Wolves home- January 7th

Those are provisonal dates before TV messes about with a couple but four huge games in an 11 day period. Also got Forest at home in early December.

Win a couple and nothing to worry about. My main issue as I've said before is how threadbare the defence back up options are with so many games in that period and that was the failure of the summer window.

Coleman will be getting starts in that period I reckon. Was going to say Jimmy G going to RB but of course Gana and Ndiaye are going to be missing all those games playing for Senegal at AFCON so need that like a hole in the head.
