2025/26 David Moyes

If anybody wants a knee-jerk sacking to some bad results they are dumb. Especially if we don't have a proper backup plan

I haven't seen anybody say that, altho i'd suspect it of some of the posters who only post the odd short angry comment

Id be happy to see him gone, as I feel there's nothing to look forward to with him. It's like an extended interim manager period to me. However even tho they are new owners I still don't trust the club to have a proper plan so will be nervous about their next choice whenever it happens
I'd be ok seeing him gone too, but only if there was a definite upgrade available who was both a realistic target and was interested in the job. Sadly I'm not seeing that manager on the market right now. I don't see Moyes getting sacked because as negative as things can be with him, we absolutely won't get relegated under him. Now while that's hardly anything to celebrate its likely the first, second, third, fourth and fifth priority of our owners. I honestly think we'll improve a little bit each transfer window and that Moyes will go at the end of 26-27. Truthfully, I think he's earned this season at least. Even if it is a rancid one.

I think he will be gone in the summer tbh

This is a really interesting one isnt it?

He's done himself no favours at all from the beginning of the summer until now.

We finished in 13th on 48pts. After spending £150mil in the summer surely 55-60pts would be the expectation?

Fall short there and the only outlier would be TFG's experience with Roma fans with their De Rossi & Ranieri hires - they may think Evertonians all love Moyes - keep him on longer.

Still think to slow with the subs yesterday needed to be brave. I like he did out garner at rb but was wrong not trying kdh in the cm even with a rohl or gana for abit with alcaraz in the 10. Also even had option ndiaye a cf with barry, worrying dibbling is get 0 minutes when jan he will be needed to cover ndiaye leaving. Not going to fully blame him becuase again beto missing big chances early has cost us

Will probably be a classic Moyes season of a difficult Christmas followed by some decent form after February. Just have to hope we’re still in the FA cup by the time the turnaround comes. Would be nice if we can find our best 11 a bit earlier though rather than being forced into it by injuries or AFCOn which is what I expect will happen. Gueye and Ndiaye will come out the team, Moyes will be forced to change the midfield balance and play Dibling and we’ll start winning a few more games.

Grealish & KDH.

Where has the £116mil come from because it seems like a fair bit more to me.

That should be the plan.

Its incredibly one dimensional and boring to watch compared with Ndiaye on the right.

If Ndiaye was on the left id wager he'd have a few more goals cutting inside.

Yes and in that front 4 teams can put 2 or 3 on Ndiaye & Grealish as they know KDH and Beto wont do anything.

Moyes clearly signed off every signing.

Hes the one not playing them.

But thats not really the issue. The issue is the "ready made" player(s) hes signed.

Everyone would surely say Gana.

For me, should be him out and Alcaraz in with KDH deeper.

But KDH isnt good defensively.

Rohl & KDH make no sense to me.

£42.5mil there he could have spent on a decent CM.
I don't know how he's signed off on them but refuses to trust them. It doesn't add up to me.

Think he will be here for this season and possibly next.
He has come into a mess, getting about 10 players out and bringing others into a not very good squad, if we're being honest.
He gets on my nerves being a bit stubborn and not reacting to situations in the game,
But at the moment I cant think of anyone else at this stage of the clubs growth who could come in?
If we get a few more defeats the pressure will go up on him , hopefully he doesn't let that happen.
The football on show isnt really. Fitting for are new ground as its not very fluent or exciting.
If the yanks are not very patient he could be in trouble.

He needs to stay for this season, changing managers mid season is never a good idea and I'm far from his biggest fan.

He needs to mix it up a bit. Teams have decided just to double up on Ndiaye and Grealish. O’Brien didn’t overlap Ndiaye once yesterday. Mykolenko was doing that weird inverted winger thing that just didn’t work because Spurs were quite happy to ignore him and just focus on Grealish. It’s too predictable and easy to defend against. Move Garner to right back and Rohl or Dewsbury Hall to centre midfield.

It’s not your job to think of a suitable replacement though mate.

For me, when the only real argument against sacking a manager is “I can’t think of who to replace him with” he’s on shaky ground as it is.

For those talking about knee jerk reactions - For many it’s no such thing. I didn’t want him in the first place, but he defo won me over a bit with results last year. I wasn’t expecting CL qualification this year, so I’ve been reasonably chilled over poor results/performances to now, but he’s already in the death spiral of selecting the same XI time and again despite glaring issues, and hoping for a better result.

It will take a horrendous run of form for him to go before the end of the season, but I think if he makes it that far, that’s as far as he should go whatever happens.

All teams need to do is put 2 or 3 players on Ndiaye & Grealish.

They can give KDH the run of the park as they know he will just look left for his mate Grealish or disappear.

No others break forward with intent and the ability to deliver.

Just mark 2 wide players and you win.
