2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

It's ok for @Eggs to laugh but Colin Harvey replaced Royston Vernon as an old fashioned inside right & got booed the then Manager had the sense to remove him& make hima great midfielder - different times I know but can do ling fill a fullback berth I wonder :D -
All Managers need imagination...

I didn't want him to go on loan, I thought he'd be better working with the players we have, but looking at how Moyes is setting up, where would he manage to get gametime.

Garner
Gana
KDH
Alcaraz
Rohl
Tim

Could you see Moyes putting him ahead of the above players, if so why did he send him out..

Afcon could change it all up.
Gana is 36 years old Rhol is injury prone - Tim is unknown....

Remember that first christmas, when you knew you were finally going to get that 🚜 to grace your field.

But the day was taking ages to go by, so you start getting frustrated, and than that frustration finally reaches it's peak when you realise 🎅 has decided to head to another Chimney before heading back to yours..

Well this is the same, a bit of patience and he'll be here soon..

…..I laugh because you continually mention Colin Harvey. Groundhog Day. Colin Harvey was a very special talent, he was also as hard as nails. Quality and attitude. Players like Colin Harvey and Wayne Rooney will come through in any era.

Harrison Armstrong is a very good footballer who might end up being a top flight regular. He’s good but he’s not Colin Harvey ;). I wasn’t keen on him going to Derby but it turned out to be a fantastic loan for all concerned. I like him lots.

My point is Colin struggled when first getting into our side in our set up he would be loaned out
Evidently we did put a clause in to Harrison Armstrong contract to fetch him back if need be ..

….if Catterick had Armstrong I guarantee he wouldn’t have made his debut at San Siro. The discussion is pointless not only in regard to the individuals but in how the game has changed.

Everton won a Youth Cup in ‘65, only 2 of those youngsters had careers at Everton under Catterick. That was in the day with a conveyer belt of local talent but you still had to be very special to make that jump into the first team.

Colin made his debut & went straight back in the reserves- as for our 1970 championship side six local players plus a cheap local player over the park featured in winning that title as for Wayne Rooney a one off coached by Colin Harvey....
Soon sold too....

How good was Colin Harvey? Who would you compare him to today?

I have been watching the blues since 1962 mate please dont try & tell me anything about young players as we just have a conveyor belt of loaning them out or selling them on - we will be ok now as DMs son is a new scout - add him to the 60 we already have - talk me trough the Barry signing ?
1966 in my case. It is all a matter of opinion. The consensus is Armstrong is an excellent prospect. I too have seen very many players who looked like it would happen and it did not for a variety of reasons.
The people who have a full time job in the game often get it wrong as do the fans. Your arrogance is off the scale.
