I always thought the choice for Bane's voice was a weird one. He sounds like an old stuffy English professor to me.

Cool having premier voice actor Serkis do that interview, also, Hardy must've been in the gym quite a bit because in that vid he looks half of what he was for the Batman film. Could it have been a Dwayne Johnson role do you reckon? Thinking back it must've been around the time he made Bronson, who as real life villains go actually feels like a Bane type.

Bronson, and Sucker Punch, the one where he was a bare knuckle fighter. He did hit the gym quite hard for those roles, if I remember correctly.
I don't think The Rock would have made a good Bane... Bautista maybe?

Yeah, can see Bautista as well, (who it turns out can act a bit) I was only thinking that they could have got any goliath in for the role and dubbed him because the mask took a lot of the performance out of the job. Personally would prefer my Bane's to be physically accurate and always wearing the classic mask. Then you can just get a banger voice actor for him.

That's sort of where I was coming at it from, I think Hardy got it 'cos he's a name and the Batman villains need that recognition. Hence my goliath comment.
He needs to be like Olivier Richters size really.

Yeh people like him, physically, are hard to get right in the cinema but I definitely think it needs to be a looks > renown choice.
Reading the Absolute Batman series at the minute and he's even more massive than usual:

It took them a very long time for this to get on tv, when all of others were released fairly quickly, even ones that had been made well after it.
I always thought that there must’ve been some kind of dispute going on, as it took so long to get on telly !

Think Vinnie Jones as The Juggernaut in the X-Men movies. That was a horrible interpretation of the character!
The Juggernaut is supposed to be as big as the Hulk.
Unless you're going to go CGI, like with the Hulk, it's always going to be hard to get the bigger comic book characters physically accurate.

Yeh and tbf the CGI Juggernaut on Deadpool looked decent to me.

It's 13 years old, it's been on terrestrial a few times already. Compare with 'Mad Max Fury Road' from 2015 and still hasn't been premiered. I think sometimes studio's want to much cash for the broadcast and I believe Miller might also have say so on certain rights deals.
