At least we're the best at something!Yeah but we've been consistently bad for 30 plus years. Those other clubs you mention are just amateurs compared to us.

Not if he begins to get things going then buggers off for a bigger job!C'mon this is laughable, he's certainly got a durable win record (48%) for a start.
1) LASK: He took a second-tier club, got them promoted, and then achieved high finishes (including runners-up in the Austrian Bundesliga) despite fewer resources. That qualifies as over-achieving for that club.
2) Wolfsburg: Achieving a top-4 finish, Champions League qualification, is above what was typically expected at the club in that timeframe.
3) Eintracht Frankfurt: Winning the Europa League is clearly an over-achievement relative to many clubs with similar budgets.
4) Crystal Palace: won the FA Cup for first time and established record unbeaten run for the club. Both over-achievements.
Even if you don't want Glasner, surely that is the type of profile that you want as a manager?!
If he wins us a trophy or two I wouldn’t be too upset at the fellaNot if he begins to get things going then buggers off for a bigger job!
Yeah, but you also have to take into account pacing. We need to conserve energy for the second half of the season. That is when being able to press higher, etc will pay off against teams that are mired in long European campaigns.I think the comment about last season is a fair one. We were energetic, pressing high, and winning the ball higher up the pitch, we had Alcaraz/Doucoure bursting through the lines and we had a compact mid block with fast transitions. So direct speed on transition was fast 1.9 m/s, turnover leading to shots on goal was 1.3 per game, average possession length 10.4 seconds.
Then we had the summer transfer window and Moyes reverted to type, less progressive carries per 90 minutes (down 35%), slower direct speed on transitions down to 1.5 m/s, less turnovers leading to shots (down 46%) and average possession length up to 13.2 seconds.
In short we are playing slower and are less direct. Now you can argue the merits of changing tack but at the minute we aren't winning as many points as we were last season and we've spent £100m. If that continues to the end of the season then its a big failure. The second half against Palace was effectively the only time we've played like last season. It was also noticeable in that game that Grealish in the second half reverted more to his playing type at Villa under Dean Smith.
We have never played with anyone who actually knows how too play it properly so its hard to say tbh. I prefer the idea of 1 of the FB moving forward and the other shuffling across like we did last season, that's a bit of the best of both worlds, it seemed to work fine although a better FB than Mykolenko would help tbh.
Didn't we finish 5th with 72 points the following season? Seems like it had no effect whatsoever. What a horrible counter point you made.He could have told Kenwright to help prepare for the following season. But hey May with nothing to play for, that was the standard.
I'd bet my bottom dollar 12-24 months ago every single person at this football club would have thought a "Glasner" was something to do with double glazed windows or was one of those companies who knock on your door in the middle of the afternoon asking if you'd like to buy a conservatory.C'mon this is laughable, he's certainly got a durable win record (48%) for a start.

And 36 months ago most thought an "Ireola" was part of a boob.I'd bet my bottom dollar 12-24 months ago every single person at this football club would have thought a "Glasner" was something to do with double glazed windows or was one of those companies who knock on your door in the middle of the afternoon asking if you'd like to buy a conservatory.
One of the many, many reasons I'm no longer allowed to practice medicine without a disguise.......And 36 months ago most thought an "Ireola" was part of a boob.

Luckily it didn't,not that Moyes was bothered. He was too busy fawning over Ferguson...and looking for trousers at M&S.Didn't we finish 5th with 72 points the following season? Seems like it had no effect whatsoever. What a horrible counter point you made.
And another horrible counter point. Luck.Luckily it didn't,not that Moyes was bothered. He was too busy fawning over Ferguson...and looking for trousers at M&S.
Doubt whoever replaced Moyes will have the time or inclination to check his popularity ratings on social media. It's a myth that managers sign up for membership of fan forums.Glasner would get utterly destroyed by our constantly moaning fans.
Moyes' greatest strength is he ignores us and just does Moyes.
We get the managers we deserve.
Yes, that's right, I'm blaming THE FANS. @chicoazul
Rooney was sold and the next season we qualified for the CL. Football is like that. My point was Moyes got his dream move and from his kissing Ferguson's ring had no more interest in the fortunes of EFC.And another horrible counter point. Luck.
No, your point was that he left us in the lurch with no planning and that it would hurt Everton. Clearly it didn't.Rooney was sold and the next season we qualified for the CL. Football is like that. No my point was it could have done and he couldn't have cared less. No, your point was that he left us in the lurch with no planning and that it would hurt Everton. Clearly it didn't.
