2025/26 Thierno Barry

No im not? I’m saying that the post you’re replying to is just someone saying ‘you can’t say Woltemade has ‘only’ got 4 goals because he’s only played 5 games’ but you’re replying as if they’re saying ‘why hasn’t Barry done as well as woltemade’. It’s just a complete misrepresentation of what was being said.

That’s deep mate, definitely something to reflect on.

Thank you for your service!

I'm just not that stressed about Barry. I think he'll come good eventually, and I keep reminding myself this is a transitional year and there's a bunch of gaps in the squad. Now's the perfect time to bed in young players who need to develop - we aren't getting relegated and we aren't getting Europe. Comfortable mid table while building sustainably for the future will do me very nicely after the last few years.

My only concern is if Moyes doesn't start giving Barry and Dibling more starts/minutes soonish. Then it just feels like a bit of a waste.

why is everyone convinced after years of trauma and worry in that regard that we arent getting relegated?

i think we will finish mid table but I’m not ruling out a scrap

i wouldnt say theres any absolutely obviously bad sides and we don’t have a competent striker and our best defender is essentially out till February

we don’t have a right back and we’re a gana injury away from a gaping hole in midfield

Woltemade has 4 goals in 5 games so far! a option we was considering alongside Barry earlier in the summer. Not Barry's fault though he needs time and not bringing another striker in when we lost two this summer three if you count Broja was criminal.

Thiago has started this season kn fire for Brentford and look at his record last year hopefully Barry can be the same in time
We might have been 'considering' Woltemade earlier in the summer, but I'll happily wager with you a young, highly rated, goal scoring German striker who was seemingly on Bayern's radar at the time wasn't considering some tinpot, relegation-battling English club he's never heard of when he's got aspirations to play at the highest level.

It might be right that Barry "needs time", but by the same token, it also feels like a blanket argument thrown over every young player. I'd be delighted for Barry to be a top striker here, but I defy anyone to list a handful of good things he's shown so far or highlight any greenshoots, because I just don't see a single one.

He might come good, who knows - I'd love to know what your optimism is based on, because I honestly can't see one single positive thing in any of his limited run outs so far.

Fully agree 1000% we'll be bang in the middle of the league after 38 games; a very comfortable bog standard middle-of-the-road season in every aspect.

In some ways Dibbling (£40m) and Barry (£27m) might possibly be seen as "a waste" in that they're not really first team players just like Alcaraz (£13m) and Anzou (£9m) are generally squad players, on the other hand... how long has the fan base been screaming for options on the bench which we now have. I'm realistic enough to know it's impossible to address everything in one window, but our only 2 striker options being Beto and Barry looks amongst the weakest in the league right now. I think it's reasonable to question where the goals are going to come from.

Early season results have been a bit odd but Wolves and Burnley have been absolutely terrible and will be bottom two. We will finish above them and one of Sunderland, West Ham, Leeds, Forest, Villa, Brentford without even thinking about it. We are hyper aware of our own issues because obviously that's what we pay attention to but I promise you that at least 3 of those clubs have it much much worse.

The context is a reply to somebody saying he’s ‘only’ got 4 goals though. There’s no point saying oh he’s only got 4 in 5 games why are you stressing about our striker having not scored in 14 games since he signed, because there’s an absolutely massive between the difference the two.
Yeah and I wasnt even being serious it was more of point people have unreal expectations for strikers on here , where they would even consider Woltemade under producing despite his incredible form

woltemade and kroupi are scoring goals

how long do we give him
5 games and atleast 6/7 goalscoring chances.

In those games I want to see him facing goal, not back to goal, with someone like Alcaraz who's direct play will give him more chances to run onto.

If he flakes them than Beto can put in a good word to KFC for him..

We were horrendous last season until moyes stepped in and we comfortably stayed up , so with Moyes in place at the beginning of the season along with the fact we have 11 points already ,our squad is flawed but it's better than last years roster. People love to give themselves anxiety for no reason

We won‘t have any fear of relegation at all, but also not the be around Europe. Pretty sure about that

Moyes will have to be a complete disaster to have us below Burnley, Wolves and West Ham
