January Transfer Window 2026

The fullbacks are a massive priority. That Juanlu Sanchez, RB, from Sevilla we have been linked with looks decent. Sevilla wanted Patterson before the window shut, so maybe there is a deal to be done there.

I dont think we have been linked with any LB's since Reguilon in the summer

He is not that good, especially at right back. There are much better options out there.

The lad at Birmingham (signed from Fulham) called Jay Stansfield looks a sharp, young, hungry striker who knows where the goal is. Definitely one who catches the eye as someone who could make the step up with potential to excel. Doubt we'd get him of course, or that he's even on the radar, but he seems like the kind of Championship-but-with-quality player Moyes used to love to find and was good at developing.
They paid 15 millions for him...I would imagine they would ask at least double that now. Not sure we are willing/able to spend that amount on one player.

This moment had me absolutely screaming and it happens so much. So many moves just don't happen at all because he just doesn't go for it.

His passing is neat and tidy and his crosses and delivery can be great. But we miss out on so many good attacking transitions because we don't have a midfielder who can initiate them regularly.

I think this is how moyes wants us to play...and perhaps still some of dyche legacy issues where we prefer to keep the ball, recycle the ball which means slow movement rather than full speed transitions...it gives this illusion that you are controlling the game by passing the ball without purpose...obrien does that a lot, it infuriates me, especially when you want a fullback to bomb forward and put in good crosses in the box for the striker.

We’re just a slow team and it’s a real frustration after spending the money we did this summer. Moyes has always had an issue with buying pace. We broke a couple of times on city inside our own half, one was Myko by the time we’re 15 yards into the city half it’s all over. We’ve stopped and gone backwards

We did not spend that much, especially based on what we needed with not investing in the squad for some years. Alcaraz is that type of player that plays on the front foot when in transitions and he has pace...but moyes prefers KDH exactly for that...keeping the ball. Dibling is a talent, but doesn't scream pace to me...probably ended up overpaying for him...I really dont have a clue what is the medium to long term plan with this squad/manager/recruitment team...

Think we need to recruitment team to buy all the players, Moyes is here for the short term and he knows it. So he’s more concerned about the here and now. Managers will always be turned over, so buy the players and get the managers who suits them players, don’t get me wrong a manger will have an input and maybe you buy one player he wants, but long term that helps with continuity.

We assume that moyes was the block for many of the signings...not convinced by it. I think we just dont seem to have a plan, and this is where the lack of proper dof is a problem for me...I am not too familiar with roma recruitment strategy, but it is day and night compare to ours.

Moyes didn’t want a DOF but he wanted soucek, he had to agree With all signings and he is the head of the recruitment team. But he’s not really playing many of the new players, yes maybe they’re not ready. But Moyes has basically added 2 players to his starting 11 from last season.

And this is why a dof is needed...soucek would have been a terrible waste of money on a player when we need so many other positions like fullbacks and strikers...what's crazy is that we actually bid for him. It is not up to moyes to decide if we have or not a dof. This is coming from the top...moyes would have manage everton dof or not.

Thing is, Grealish, KDH and N'Diaye could all get injured at any point this season. skill players in the attack tend to get lumped at some point. When they do our creativity falls to McNiel, Dibling and Alcaraz (I am still not sure where Rohl fits). Thats quite a step down but not the end of the world,
Where we look really bad is if Beto gets injured and we are down to Barry playing the full 90 (or vice versa). It is verging on negligence to not bring in another CF in January.
I am less concerned about our defence as upgrading in january would be medium quality and only add a small amount to the unit as a whole. Has Anzou gone the route of Dixon btw? never to be seen again. Moyes has a relatively small squad and needs to be bringing Academy players through.

Salah has never been Injured.

A solid point. I've seen siamese twins spend less time together than the three bald cvnts that is Woan, Stone and gravel gullet. 🤮
I genuinely thought that was their deal that Woany always got to live in Dyche’s flat during the week. I can only assume that Mrs D will be living in the Burnley flat whilst Woan moves to Kettering (or wherever).
It’ll be a big upheaval for her until they get a payoff in about 10 weeks time.
