2025/26 David Moyes

Your usual polite tosh ....

I'd really love to have someone study how a fanbase that supported a team which was in three, nearly four, consecutive relegation battles has developed this monumental sense of entitlement to feel that Everton has to be competing for Europe in the top half of the table 12 months on from the last time they sacked an underperforming manager.

When did someone tell you all that we have this God given right to finish in the top 8 because they gave Moyes a bit of money to bring in some squad players?

You'd be a lot less angry about us being in 12th if you remembered we were in 17th around this time last year. That's what we call progress.

Are people really expecting top half and Europe? I'll happily take 12th now and a new start in the summer as stability will have been achieved.

The way people have kicked off here over us not beating Man City it looks like they definitely are raging and spitting mad we aren't in 5th place.
I think that's more to do with how drearily predictable that defeat was. As I said the other day, I don't have an issue with losing at Man City after the match. The problem with Moyes is you need to make your peace with such an outcome before the match.

His record at those clubs is staggeringly poor. It would never be "good" - the disparity in resources precludes that - but the law of averages suggests he should be able to fluke the odd win. Instead, he laughs and jokes with Haaland and settles for the predictably plucky 2-0 reverse.

We've seen that movie far too often before. A new manager wouldn't have such baggage and would likely be given 47 chances to address the issue before it becomes the dead weight around the neck that it now is for Moyes. Hence the need for a new start next summer. But 12th this season and move on will do for now.

I'll be honest mate, top 10 is what I'm looking for this season and that's as much because we need to be able to attract better quality players as much as anything

I think that hope died today. Frankly, the summer window was palatable for two reasons: Jack and Jarrad. We've lost one of the pillars of that optimism today. Instead we have spent over 60m on players who can't make our side while neglecting right back and playing a false 9 even when we play a 9.

It's called a joke Joseph. How did Harrison play at the weekend? I see his team were dominated by West Brom.
Mediocre team Preston he got an average score out of ten like all the Preston team - we were u done at city as Phill Foden split our defence twice & a 20 year old left back for city ran a mock in the 2nd half - O'Really no it was O'Rielly a young youth player aged 20 years old !

I use the 10- 12 game rule to see where we end up ....

It`s called agendas mate.

We win > they go quiet and disappear

We lose > out they come, demanding his head.

I really don't think that's true. There's Dave, who is just Dave, then there's a couple of posters who seem to be constantly angry and don't like him

There's plenty more just discussing him, including criticism of him, which is what this thread is for.

Personally I would say the loons shouting about him are joined by the overly sensitive Moyes lovers in derailing the thread. They are each in their own trench popping up only to throw exaggeration and strawman arguments at each other.
