That's a bit of an overreaction. Plenty of elite players have had a spell of injury issues but have come through it just fine.
Stuff like this is massively OTT. It's disappointing and concerning for our season, that is all. This is such a gutter.
Sadly, he can no longer be relied on, nor will he ever get to the levels many of us thought he would.
He's a CB and should play CB, I don't see anyone struggling with that.
More that moving him from RB creates holes elsewhere that, to me, don't make the team better.
We've also allowed 9 goals in the league which is 8th best? It's not as if we've been poor defensively.
Well yes, that should have been addressed in the summer.
But again, who plays CM if Garner is at RB? And is it a lock that O'Brien plays at CB? I'm unsure, at best, with both.
The words that matter are highlighted. Like I said, I'm not saying it's definitely what I would do but it's fairly easy to see why we would do it. A few people suggested they couldn't see why we would do it, which seems odd to me.He's a CB and should play CB, I don't see anyone struggling with that.

Yeh, you're massively overreacting. Based on a rumour, too.Not for me it isn’t. He’s got that gangly frame, which can never change, and I would say is contributing to his injury concerns.
Then you consider once the hammy’s go, they tend to plague you for the rest of your career.
You can’t get to an elite level missing 15-20 games a season.
He’ll probably always look decent when he is fit, but the problem will always remain. He won’t be able to stay fit. Doesn’t matter how good you are if on the treatment table more than you are on the pitch.
Out of interest who are these players that have managed that by the way?
I am trying to look at it positively....Stuff like this is massively OTT. It's disappointing and concerning for our season, that is all.
He is, and it's tough to watch sometimes. But I don't think he's in the starting 11 at this point if he's not at RB. I wouldn't put him in before Tarkowski or Keane atm, for instance. Maybe that's the simplest move, if there is one to be made. JOB to the bench, and you hope that KDH, Iroebugnum or Rohl play as well as Garner has in a much more important position. We have more CMs than we do RB. A fair few could come in for Garner there, whether Rohl, Iroegbunam, adapt the midfield to change Alcaraz or Dewsbury-Hall's position.
It's also about the player, his development and confidence. O'Brien is struggling at right back.
He's poor positionally as a CM, it won't get better in a higher risk area.
It will be Keane and Tarkowski unless the wheels fall off.
Well, KDH's only done it his entire career so he should be okay to keep doing it.He is, and it's tough to watch sometimes. But I don't think he's in the starting 11 at this point if he's not at RB. My comments are on the basis the rumour is true. Thought that was obvious.Yeh, you're massively overreacting. Based on a rumour, too.
It's somewhere in the middle I think. It obviously doesn't mean he's finished but it's potentially a lot more than just disappointing. If (and i'm aware it's a big if) talk of 4 months is accurate then we're talking about him pretty much missing the entire season. That's serious stuff, especially off the back of him missing a decent chunk of last season and needing surgery aswell. It's certainly not a case of throwing him on the scrap heap but we probably do have to consider the possibility that this could be a much bigger deal than just just being a bit of a short term disappointment.Stuff like this is massively OTT. Confirmed now by Everton... undergoing surgery. My comments are on the basis the rumour is true. Thought that was obvious.
Hopefully it’s not true!
Still intrigued as to who these players are you reckon got over reoccurring hamstring injuries? I can’t think of any that all of a sudden stopped getting hamstring injuries…
