2025/26 David Moyes

Posted this on the match thread, but it’s also relevant here:

Between October 13, 2005 and October 13, 2025:
  • Manchester City recorded a home win percentage of 71.2% in the Premier League.
  • Liverpool had a home win percentage of 67.1% in that same 20‑year span.
  • Arsenal during the last 10 years (2015‑25) had a home winning rate of 67.0%.
Over the last five seasons Liverpool lost at home nine times and City lost 10 times.

When the top teams do actually lose at home it tends to be against another top team. Lesser sides winning is rare as hen’s teeth

He very very very very rarely beats a top 4 team away.

In fact he has done it once against Arsenal in 2023. That was his 72nd attempt to win away against Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea or Man United.

Amazing record.
We have a new stadium, some exciting attacking players and a lack of dyche. We're where we're supposed to be I reckon. We were all happy with relegation avoidance with a pinch of European hope but most would be happy with mid table finish at this particular point in the journey.

Lots of were, we're and where's in that. Who says the English language isn't hard to learn 🤔

I can believe I’m going to knock out Gennady Golovkin but it’s not going to help me when he punches me up and down the street!
Tbf on most occasions you have a point. Today for example - there’s nothing else we could have done, played well, created chances and we just have to take them.

Most of my Moyes frustrations against the big teams tbh are solely based on some performances against the RS…they have had some god awful teams over the years and we rarely managed to lay a glove on them.

I think these days it’s got harder and harder to beat the bigger sides away. Arsenal, city, Liverpool,Chelsea - you need a whole lot of luck and be clinical.

Yeah - the FA Cup semi was a massive disappointment. But I do think he at least learns from such mistakes, or will try to fix the areas where we come up short. That’s all a manager can do really.
