2025/26 David Moyes

I don't get all this. I don't "wish" anything. That's a childish response. I've just given my opinion. I haven't talked about hounding him out. What's that got to do with anything. It's all just overly sensitive stuff really. I've said I'm fine with him until the summer and won't be losing my head if they keep him beyond that.

There's a conversation to be had. He can actually be the best manager we have had since Howard but also be disliked by lots of fans. I mean we have been crap since then, so he's not had to do too much to shine. You're hardly showering him with praise there

You're fine with him until the summer? Okay mate. Who's your choice to replace him with this summer? What's the, err, masterplan?

Crack on with your agenda. There's tens of thousands of sensible blues who will be more than happy to let him continue as long as he's not taking us backwards.

It's not childish at all. It's not overly sensitive. We've got a manager doing a good job, and you're a big critic.

Just giving your opinion? Yeah, I know. I'm responding to that opinion. An opinion that includes such nonsense as 'he'll be hounded out soon enough' and 'there's a split amongst the fanbase'.

As I've already pointed out, there's no massive split. I've seen far bigger splits with Lampard, Benitez, Martinez, Allardyce and Dyche. If your definition of a split is that there's a few bellends who think they know better, then there's always gonna be a split, because even Carlo Ancelotti had 'evertonians' who questioned his ability and worthiness of managing this club.

Some of the language here is deplorable.

Periodic reminder that Carlo Ancelotti is an outstanding football manager and very much had the 'ability and worthiness' to manage Everton, but showed very little to suggest that he was actually suited to the job that he had. Obviously some people got embarrassingly starstruck by him and still fangirl over him now but at the end of the day he took over a team which had finished 8th the season before and finished 12th and 10th before running off and leaving us in the lurch.

Moyes has done a good job, he's much more suited to managing a club in our position than Ancelotti was.

Ancelotti himself compared managing us to driving a Fiat Punto and said he couldn’t work with our players.

Again with the agenda and all that nonsense. I’m my opinion it’s childish. I can understand it when used for whatever it is Davek does on here, but I don’t think anything I’m saying is having an agenda. I’ve not said anything about hounded out btw. Dunno where you got that from.

I said fine with him until summer and also said I won’t have a major problem if he stays beyond that. It wouldn’t be my preference but it’s understandable for where we are. As for who next. I dunno. I just know I’ve seen a lot of Moyes to be able to make fair judgement on what to expect, and I’d prefer see something else for this new dawn of ours

I wouldn’t bother saying split if I thought it was just a few people. I am confident you have a lot who fall in the “I wouldn’t have wanted him back in other circumstances but he’s here and he’s doing fine” topped with those who don’t want him and don’t like him. I’d think of it like floating voters. I think Moyes doing Moyes things like the cup exit will always put that larger group edging towards talk of change. I think it’s finely balanced enough that if we’d lost to Palace there’d have been a fair bit of noise around the fanbase. Happy to be proven wrong if he does ever hit a real rough patch. I’ll come back and say you were right if he makes it thru bad runs without any major discontent

You missed the calculation of the amount who say they don't visit or post anymore because of @davek
I can understand this. I find myself sometimes taking breaks now after a poor performance or defeat knowing whats coming. My tablets can only do so much for my blood pressure. When I do come on I just treat him as a parody account of an angry fan. Works for me.
