Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this cloudy one here ,I hope all had a good night's rest and wake to a fine day .
Did I mention that a wolf had attacked a woman and her dog last week ? I would imagine they have hunted and shot it by now . Ne'er a dull moment .
Have a great day all COYB
No you didn’t mention the wolf attack! I think we would have remembered that funny enough.

I’m really not sure about the mooted idea of reintroducing them into Ireland.

Morning all, grey and cloudy again as it has been for the past few days, which hasn’t helped lift my mood. Still coming down from last week I guess but also had a bit of sad news yesterday. It doesn’t affect me directly but still…
Granddaughter’s best friend is not of British origin and they have been meeting up on the walk to school, however recently the friend has been getting a lift. Her parents are reluctant to let her walk as she has been subjected to racist abuse. I’m sure this is nothing to do with the amount of flags appearing on lampposts and from windows in the area which are no doubt just a display of patriotism by people who are proud of this country and of course people are entitled to their opinion. Yesterday granddaughter was very upset to learn that the family have decided to leave the country so she will be losing her friend. I don’t mean to get all political, this isn’t really the place and am sorry if I’ve caused offence but the whole situation has just got to me a bit.
Have a good day, all.💙
This is so sad and unfortunately becoming more common. I despair. So much so that I have volunteered my services for the local Parish Council. There were 4 vacancies and I was approached to ensure that Reform don't get their people in. Apparently, according to Reform, my quiet little area of County Durham is a hot bed of extreme left wing nutters.🤣 Sounds perfect. I'm in!

I too am not sure about these ancient reintroductions especially with apex predators .They have caused mayhem with some lower down the scale and vagrant species .Interestingly we eat a fish called Zander and they have been found wild in the UK for the first time ,all anglers are being told to kill them upon catching ,the thing is they are excellent eating ,when we catch them they never have other fish inside as do the pike and perch but they are being accused of killing smaller fish .Here we have vendace which are whitebait size when small and they fish them from the lakes by the tonne with no apparent hrm from the zander to their population.

I thought you meant you had a pet fish called Zander. It's too early.....🤣

Very interesting that. I was just looking up Zander and see it hasn’t arrived in Ireland yet but any sightings must be reported. While nature is so robust, it is delicately balanced all the same.
