2025/26 Vitalii Mykolenko

Well he fumbled or tripped over the ball about 5 times on his short debut, in a friendly, so it might be eagerness, it might be lack of experience/playtime, but for once I'm siding a bit more with Moyes on this. I think he's probably hoping easing him in will be better in the long run and will result in a calmer player, but I also get the frustration from the fact the other option is limited.

Also playing for Bayern/Barca academies means you win and dominate most games anyway. He's played about 20 min of first team football for Bayern and he didn't participate in a win for his stay at Valladolid (not due to him, they were just atrocious).
He also then had an injury when we started the season.

Well, unless you a foil hat wearer who thinks Moyes was lying about that.

Just meant I’m sure he’s overplaying the lack of readiness for a player schooled by Barcelona and Bayern Munich
He's barely played a first team game. The ones he has were in a very bad Valladolid team on loan.

Not saying he's a bad player, but I'll trust Moyes on this one. No point throwing him in at the deep end. Get him settled, acclimatised and ready.

Involved in both of our goals:
A pee poor pass to Beto, that the defender let run, not seeing Tim coming from his blind spot
And so much involvement in the second that he doesn't even make the highlights package as he had a pee poor, flat cross get headed away to be recovered by Alcaraz.

He's rank

A left back being left footed - deary me.
Boring response but okay. Being too left footed means you heavily rely on one foot to get downhill and it slows you down on the dribble. I am not speaking of hitting a ball with the right foot. If people give McNeil pelters for this it applies to Myko and Myko is far more guilty of screwing up dribbles because of his lack of right foot.

The problem with that is he’s not that good at his ‘primary role’ either…

Nice enough bloke, but bang average player
Over the years, the likes of saka, salah etc have not been as successful against us as they have others when myko plays

He’s poor going forward, he’s more than adequate defensively. He scores we riot…..

V Palace yet another goal conceded from the same LB area again , thats 6 in a row now.

Concerning.
I mean, when we concede, it’s going to come from somewhere.

Against West Ham the ball in came from the RB area.

Liverpools 2nd came from through ball by a midfielder while Myko was marking his man correctly.

Wolves in the cup, the first was a ball in from the right, the second was a through ball between the cbs.
