Last Film You Watched

Well, for all you nic coppola fans, Dune is on again tonight on itv1 at 10:45pm. I realise nic coppola isn't in it but don't let that stop you.

There's not a ton on at the usual times tonight, so a bit more looking and then I found...

I haven't seen this yet, and I'll be damned if I'm putting myself through dune again. 'Glory' it is, film4 10:50pm.

It’s amazing how many people have got similar stories of how IT traumatised them as a kid, we were talking about it in work the other day and near enough everyone around my age had the same kind of memories of being haunted for months. Literally all of them blame an older sibling/cousin aswell😂

It's not a bad movie, worth a watch

Wrong Turn (2003)

Another movie watched in preparation for next weeks horror film festival, as the director of Wrong Turn 2 is coming to show the movie.

Well, I really hated the opening scene and in particular the way it was shot with loads of shaky cam. At this point I was really dreading spending 80 minutes watching this.

Luckily it improved from there. In classic slasher fashion the characters make a lot of awful decisions (fitting of a movie called Wrong Turn I suppose), but all in all it was an enjoyable movie. Some of the characters were also rather annoying, which made it all the sweeter when they got killed.

I imagine I'd enjoy the movie far less if it wasn't for Eliza Doshku. The lead guy had the same facial expression throughout the entire film and delivered every line as if he couldn't care less. It was also hilarious when the characters all of a sudden turned into a crossbreeding between Tarzan and Rambo. At least it was kind of entertaining.

And as a 2003 movie, you just have to expect bad CGI, but I did not expect it to be used for the landscape shots instead of the gore (which was actually quite good). To top it all off, the song playing during the credits sounded like a total Creed rip-off.

Worth watching, fun movie. 5/10

Good one in this subject for is wolf creek. First horror I’ve been to at the cinema when about half the audience walked out due to the gruesomeness. My date at the time insisted we leave also. That film was full on

Puppet Master III: Toulon's Revenge (1991)

Loved every second of this, it's just pure simple fun and it's obvious that the film was made with so much love and care. I'm sure the budget was low, but it doesn't look like it as it's really well made. The Puppets suddenly being the good guys hunting nazi's was a nice touch.

Richard Lynch is brilliant as the main villain, while Guy Rolfe does well in his portrayal of the likeable old Puppet Master, Andre Toulon. I don't think I've seen a Full Moon Entertainment film I haven't liked yet. Almost gave it an 8, but I'll go with a 7/10 since I can't really justify calling it better than The Black Phone.
