The Black Phone (2021)
TBP 2 is the opening film at the local horror film festival I'm going to next week, so I just had to watch this and yeah, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I wouldn't exactly call it scary, but I liked the characters and got quite invested in their fates.
I'm also inclined to enjoy movies set in the 70s and 80s more than more modern stuff, so there's that. It gave me similar vibes to "Summer of 84", which is another movie I love.
Ethan Hawke was good as well, even though his character wasn't all that interesting. I didn't even realize it was him until I saw his name in the credits, though I thought the guy was oddly familiar. That's a compliment to him I guess as I saw the character instead of the actor. 7/10
