2025/26 Iliman Ndiaye

Have you not seen him take them before?

He waits for the keeper to make his move and then just slots it the other way ..

Remeber that Scandinavian player for Fulham that used to be the master of it .. pee rolled it the opposite way to the keeper every time
It’s basically what onana attempted to do against Fulham but it went wrong and people absolutely lost it with him and never forgave him, because they’re dead normal and not weird at all.

I've seen all of them🙄,so what if the keeper stands up and waits for him? Best way to take a penalty is pick your corner and put your foot through it.
And then you could just also say 'what if the keeper guesses the right way to dive?' for when the pen-taker picks their corner and puts their foot through it.

FA cup final save vs City, the pen shootout against Liverpool and the penalty on Sunday against Ndiaye, Henderson just picks a corner and commits to the dive, he doesn't hesitate on any pen to wait for a stutter. Ndiaye does the right thing to wait for him. He gives himself away if you have the nerve to wait and look. Ndiaye hadn't even planted his left foot yet and the goalie has already shifted his weight to his right foot to dive to the bottom left corner.

Ndiaye has also shown that he mixes it up, the last pen he took before Sunday (against Arsenal) he doesn't hesitate at all, just runs straight up and slots it borrom right - that keeps goalies guessing.

Incredible clip this. Love it. Only made possible by the proximity of the crowd. He’s literally a few feet from the front row when the disappointment of Beto’s header being saved turns to proper visceral joy.

(Sadly needs watching in the X post as if you click the play button it’s a redirect to get you to the Official YouTube channel 👎)

Thanks for sharing mate, just amazing that, love the lad, what a player and to see how much he wants it is boss.

That clips up there with Betox29 for me, as my favourite recent Everton bits, plus anything that involves Jack Grealish of course! 🤣

No … that was a lazy , poorly executed pen …

That like saying that picking a corner and putting your foot through it is the same as when Kane missed one doing the same thing.

He is confident doing what he’s doing and has scored them all so far … nobody I’m aware that takes pens regularly throughout their career has a 100% record … he will likely miss at some point but if he converts 80% plus during his time here I won’t be complaining

Maybe, but this is true of any penalty. One day, a keeper will do his homework and will dive to the favoured corner.
It's common sense,if you put your foot through it even if the keeper chooses the correct corner there's still a good chance he won't keep it out. Over a season there are plenty of examples to see. The penalty against Palace not only is stroked in but it's not even close to the post.

he has his own technique and he hasn’t missed…. He’s on pens as he’s the best one taker at the club … he hasn’t missed yet so stop complaining about how he’s scoring them
It's hardly a complaint, just an observation that one day (maybe at a vital point of the season) a keeper will stand up and won't go first.

And if he puts a bit more pace on the ball that helps to ensure that if the keeper goes the right way it's a far more difficult save to make.?

….i’m not a fan of rolling the ball in but players who put their foot through the ball will inevitably miss at some stage.

Penalty taker is your best striker of a football, pick a corner and put a bit of pace on is my preferred method but I’m not complaining if Ndiaye is successful at giving the keeper the eye and waiting for him to go. I’d hope he’s practiced for scenario where the keeper remains rooted, doesn’t take much to put it wide of him with a bit of pace.

Ndiaye gives the eyes. He is just looking at the keeper and not the ball. 100% so far so no complaints. If keeper stands his ground then I am sure Illy will have something up his sleeve like a firmer hit. Illy has penalties down to an art

Rolling the ball is working for him at the moment, just wish he'd put it nearer the post for that added bit of security. Be interesting if we get one against City.
