The Oldies Thread

I put 3 of these around the house (wooden ones) about 3 years back but never caught anything, I'm hoping these noise sensor plugs I've put around the flat do the job,
The trap pictured is a large rat trap of eBay not that expensive chocolate or peanut butter as bait works well if they are nice use the smaller size same bait not cheese ...works easily 29 caught mice last season in the greenhouse easy to do

….remember the old wooden ones in our house in Everton when I was a kid. As long as @Littlesue doesn’t mind getting rid of dead mice.
They are lethal to set - the new plastic ones of Ebay are cheap & very effective chocolate or peanut butter in the hole on the trap the pest can't resist it bang neck broken lift the lever & the rodent just falls into your dustbin - easy to reset too...

When I were a lad...... I had a job catching rats after hours in Birkenhead market. It was remarkable fun for a teenager at the time, not because I like killing animals but the lengths your coworkers went to to avoid vermin up the trouser leg and the mix of excitemetn and terror when you found a nest and they all came out at full speed. I realised then that the dont go for your throat when cornered - they go for the narrowest part of your body, Anyway today its a have-a-heart trap for the squirrels and those effective old style wood ones with a pice of dry dog food for bait. I am not a fan of the glue traps which seem cruel and heartless.

Those glue traps are expensive & you have to kill the vermin yourself - horrendous- the new traps are humane a straight broken neck ear to dispose into a dustbin - poison & those glue traps are inhumane imo

….daughter, son-in-law and two of our grandkids joined us here on holiday in Kos yesterday. Great hotel facilities, just took 3m year old Harry bedecked in his Everton kit to the footy pitch and stuck a few in the top corner like the old days.

Trouble is, I forgot I turned 69 yesterday and my right groin popped. I’m now totally walking in 2nd gear, no more footy practice with Harry 😔
I misread that at first.

I had a really painful right groin pain a few years ago, couldn’t even lift my leg to get in the car.
Doctor referred me to a physio who examined and made me do a few stretches etc,and said it was referred pain from my left side hamstring which was not allowing that leg to fully straighten.
Couple of weeks of correct stretch exercises and I was back at the running club.
