2025/26 David Moyes

Almost all transfers are paid in installments over the length of the players contract. I have absolutely no idea what the precise payment schedule is for Beto but it doesn't seem outlandish that we would still owe some of his fee.

The poster did initially suggest that we paid nothing for Beto while Dyche was at the club btw.

Just seen Moyes postmatch interview. He was remarkably frank about how poor Everton were in the first half, and full of praise for Palace admitting it could have been 3 nil at half time but for Pickford. Roll on the return of injured players and the far off January transfer window.

Last time we’d a good start like this was the first full season under Ancelloti, we were 5th and on 13 pts after 7 games.
Would be happy enough with another season like that and something to build upon. Would be even better if we go further and get Europe this season. Moyes has done great in comparison to previous seasons the fact I’m even thinking about Europe, probably the first time since Ancelloti left

Let's not get ahead of ourselves and remember where we are in footballing terms, yes a fantastic result on Sunday, but as Moyes said Palace should have been out of sight in the 1st half, and prior to that game we have been average to poor all season performances wise, but what that will do is breed confidence and that is crucial in football, as then average players start to want the ball and play.

So let's see after the break when Branthwaite and Rohl come back in.

I am hoping Moyes can find his best 11 and system because as of yet it was not working before Palace.

I think having KDH in the 10 is not right, Alcaraz does a better job there

Fair assessment mate but it’s nice to be thinking about mid table finishes and Europe over what we’ve had the last few seasons. KDH is probably not a CM either but would be nice to see him in beside Gueye if Garner is going to RB

whether we put it down to his tactical changes or not, coming back from a losing position to beat a team unbeaten in 19 is some going like, i will drink to that.
It's a results business and he got the result. That's what matters in every game. I think he got his reward for doing something he often doesn't: make early substitutions. So, full marks from me on Sunday.

I’d I’ve taken only 2 losses after 7 games at the start off the season, granted we’ve not been at it last few games but there’s glimpses of a decent team, I agree that Alacaraz needs to play at 10 and I’d drop KDH into the 8 role. UTFT

Hopefully we'll see more early subs now we have the players on the bench who can actually make a difference.
Yup, it's essential. He was 15 minutes away from a bit of a crisis on Sunday with City and Spurs next up. Two late goals and he's sitting pretty in 8th. But he earned that by being decisive.

He'll never play the type of football I thrill to, but if he can be a little more proactive and adventurous mid-game, he'll do for this season.

The team played great football in his last couple of seasons. It’s not like Bobby came in and turned a Pulis side into entertainers.

Yes I said nothing was paid for Beto initially, that’s why we took him on, I never suggested that he was a free transfer, I knew he was going to cost much more than he was worth like most fans knew at the time, what I was saying was Everton never had to pay a penny for him in that first season we bought him.
