The importance of booing

We saw & heard it again yesterday. Booing in football matches often gets a bad rap, but should it? Again the Blues supporters' raw expression holding players and refs accountable while adding intensity to the game woke the beast up. It made the place feel like... home.

What do you think, is booing Everton's super power or is it just toxic nonsense? Share us your greatest boos.
It should not be overused.

Use it sparingly and only when called for. Booing because we’re not 5-0 after ten minutes is daft.

I’m not sure I’ve ever booed but I understand those frustrations if a player is not putting a shift in.
I don’t think the boos were aimed at the team yesterday anyway.

But besides, the players know when they work hard they are adored by the fans. There’s a video of the fans yesterday singing spirit of the blues at the final whistle, it fills me with joy.

I don’t know any Everton supporter who demands cups, success and Glory. But I know most demand hard work on the pitch, there’s nothing wrong with that, cups will take care of themselves if 11 players work their socks off.

Hate it, it’s a relatively modern thing. I don’t remember much in the sixties and seventies.
I’ve being going to the game since 1948 and booing has always been part of the crowds noise, well in Liverpool and Glasgow had a reputation for it also, yesterday let’s be honest Everton were hopeless and the booing, at half time, when I heard it pretty loud, was letting the team and management know they wanted something done about it.

Muffled booing for a bad performance ok,full on booing for bad ref decisions and opposition players is what gets us going, even more than a goal, get into them EVERTON.

Look at the wage difference from average player/person to now and then.
Something in that. 66 England went on the underground as they did for every match. They weren't celebrities back then, neither were they paid.

Remember Paul Bracewell knocking at my door down in Wales as he heard through our muns i suppported Everton thus gave me two signed picture post cards and signed 86 England top. Never would happen now unless there was angle to exploit...

Draw a line at signaling individual home plsyet out for booing but poor team effort is fair game. Dyche and kopite would have many more matches if it were not acrimonious booing Goodison.

Incidentally spirit of Goodison found its way down to the "dock" yesterday afternoon after that penalty went in. Got the crowd going. If you want cheers expect the boos.

Stuart Barlow. If they'd quietly thrown cushions from the top balcony instead of booing him, he'd have been up there with van Basten.
That's quite the mountain of cushions.

Would Stuart Barlow would be our top striker right now? Maybe - and that is a boo-worthy indictment on our recruitment.
