2025/26 Thierno Barry

Where he was put through and couldn’t figure out how to run in a straight line was all I needed to see.

Was like this going for headers and challenges against Roma in his first game for us.

Wasn't there a scam where someone claimed to be George Weah's cousin to get a Premier league contract (under Souness at Southampton?) - parallels with Barry here maybe?

The biggest indictment of his first half performance was that Beto came on and started making life difficult for their centre backs and all of a sudden Palace were playing 10 yards deeper. I think Barry needs time to settle, but, for the time being, he can't start matches.
Completely agree with the last line, problem is when beto has started this season he has hardly impacted the game either, certainly not like he did as a sub today.

Moyes teams have never been set up to enable a striker to flourish, this season no different. Barry can't start at the moment, but somehow beto needs to get back to influencing games like end of last season or we are in for a real hard slog to stay where we are in league at the moment.

I'll continue to back him as long as he puts in effort. There was clearly effort today, all that said...

I can't lie, as much as I've backed him he was miles off it today. He's had a fast rise through the leagues, not a lot of stability and our poor possession and lacklustre midfield, apart from Garner, didn't help. He had a clear run at one point and somehow managed to lose the ball. I don't think he's a starter, I think he's a solid second or third choice as things stand but with a bit of training and discipline who knows.

Didn't do anything, didn't give any glimpses of what kind of striker he is or what he might bring to the team.
