He's 23 in a couple of weeks and some make out he's a teenager. Every one of us could name at least 20 players in the league that are younger than him that are miles better.

"Give him time to adapt" - trapping a ball, passing accurately, and making contact with a cross are all fundamentals of football. Nothing to do with the leagues he has played in or his age. He's not good enough and never will be.

Not adapted as of yet. Slow start at each of his previous clubs so will give him time but he does with no doubt need to step up to the plate.

I don't think he's a goal away from things changing. Feel like he needs a few cameos where he does the simple things right and plays with a lot more energy than he's showing. When in doubt in front of this crowd, put a shift in.

Exactly. Mateta looked miles off it when he first went to Palace and now he's one of the best number 9's in the league. Need to give Barry the season before deciding if he's suitable to this league or not

It’s his lack of movement that gets me, he doesn’t make any runs down the channels or when we get near the box, he needs a proper forwards coach I think to bring him up to speed with the prem.
