2025/26 David Moyes

Beto, Chermiti, O’Brien and Danjuma (loan fee) had circa £50m spent on them and he left them on the bench. Ndiaye and Tim and Lindstrom loan fee for the rest of the money.
Everton under Dyche paid no money for Beto, that’s why he was signed, the payments are in the future, not sure how the fee for Chermiti was arranged, O’Brien was on the drip I think, Ndiaye was a great signing and we will treble whatever we paid for in the future, Tim was a straight swap for Dobbin with the transfer arranged to beat the financial rules.

Superb today, Moyes.

Played the side literally everyone has been crying out for.

Saw it wasn’t working, made decisive early changes and turned round a 1-0 deficit to win the game.

Oh Davey Moyes

I mean, generally speaking people have been foaming at the idea of Dibling, Ndiaye and Grealish - he did what the fans wanted today and he proved we don’t know as much as we think we do.

I literally haven’t seen anyone suggest that.

Almost everyone on Twitter wanted to holy trinity of Dibling, Ndiaye and Grealish.

It doesn’t matter though, the manager got it spot on and we won the football match.

It’s the side people wanted to see and he couldn’t change it quicker - because he’s a good manager and knows better than fans on Twitter or internet forums.

I think he bowed down a little to fan pressure today and picked what they wanted to see.

Luckily, he got it right and we got 3 points.

Seek therapy, you’re a very angry chap.

No I didn’t.

I came into the David Moyes thread to praise David Moyes for doing well today.

So stop “talking crap”.

We will never know. Moyes got it right today though. Lovely 3 points against the most in form team in the world.

Everyone wanted Alcaraz to start and Moyes' side should have been 3 goals down by half time.

The player everyone wanted to start, Alcaraz turned the game 2nd half.

Am I doing this right?

Oh wait, you wrote "literally everyone".

No. This isnt true.

Moyes was very lucky today.

This is actually just a lie, we signed Beto in 2023 and paid for him in summer 2024, which is when Dyche was here. Same with Chermiti. Dead, dead strange thing to lie about.

Every signing we buy is on the drip. It’s pretty much how all football works now. We didn’t pay £30m this summer for Barry for example. So we could argue Moyes has spent very little money so far if you do it that way.

Proactive Moyes > reactive Moyes
He was more proactive than reactive at West Ham. He’s also very good at in-game positional adjustments, which is often better than making substitution. He’s more seasoned and rounded than he was before.

What’s interesting is it’s often chess-like. Sometimes he’ll wait for the other manager to make their subs before he counters with his own.

"I thought Beto should have scored."

Way to go to boost a striker's confidence.

All he had to say was that "Beto's header was fantastically saved and we thankfully had Jack there to convert".
He's had a few digs at Beto.
Maybe rightly but calling out players in public never works imo
There's no upside to 'saying Beto should've scored'.
The lad can only take that as a slight and it was a good save.

Nah, it depends on the player. Some need to be dug out and others respond to the old arm around the shoulder. Beto has been complacent for a while.
