2025/26 Thierno Barry

But in the summer before he played for Forest? I doubt it.

Someone mentioned above is that all we needed to do is spend more money. 70 million pound strikers weren't coming to us over the summer, that's just fantasyland. We couldn't convince a winger from France for half of that to join us because he wanted European football.

But yes, at the end of the day, he needs a run of games. Normally I'd say he should be earning them in training, but Beto has been so bad he should just get them by default at the moment.
I don't know if you're referring to my post about the absurd fee Newcastle paid, i was trying to convey that you're more likely to get a ready made striker which that's not even guaranteed than we should have paid more money and we would of easily acquired a high caliber striker. Basic gist is Barry needs more time before he can be definitively assessed

Mitrovic would have jumped at the chance to come back and Vardy for one year wouldnt have been a bad move!
If Vardy was such a good move then why didn't other Premier League clubs move for him? As for Mitrovic how do you know he'd jump at the chance of a move on vastly reduced wages? Also Mitrovic isn't all that great anyway unless you're relentlessly crossing the ball

Think everyone needs to reset their expectations if they think £30 million buys you a guaranteed immediate regular goalscorer in the toughest league in Europe.

Everton can't afford to waste £30 million? Well dunno about wasting it but they're going to have to pay it and more across multiple positions every window from here on in as that the way the leagues gone.

Fans will just have to be PATIENT
I agree £30m won’t get you the perfect profile for a striker, ie guaranteed goals and a future resale value, but defo does get you a proven scorer, maybe at the end of their career, but for me that’s less of a gamble than £30m on a prospect. With our track record that is more likely to fail than be a success. We need goals now, not fingers crossed they will come (imo)

As for other positions, £30 gets you a lot more value than strikers. KDH who was a well proven player was £27m after all.

No, it was someone who replied to me who said that we shouldn't have taken Barry's and Dibling's fee and bought a 70 million striker.

Yeah because it was obnoxious and not remotely funny after the 50th time the tired and whinge jokes were made so they weren't really involved in actual discourse so this isn't the gotcha moment you think it is, oh remind me did we end up signing Jack Harrison I can't remember
Not really a gotcha moment just comparing over reactions , bit like the one your having now
