A no win situation

I'd be happy that he prioritised the cup. We all want success but it's far less likely to come when Moyes picks teams like he did last night. We could win the next 3 league games from now and I wouldn't even be bothered. I want big cup nights at BMD, I want days out at Wembley.
Get your point but three league games would be fantastic. Our league position will play a big role in the quality we can sign next summer. Sadly we do have to be realistic. The club was broken and it will take time. Having said that, I WANT A TROPHY NOW!

Should Moyes have played what everybody thinks was his strongest XI, last night, and Grealish and AN OTHER got injured, being kept out were out for a long period, he would have been slated for playing them. He just can’t win. Accept who we are. We’ve had to live with this for years, and it’s not going to change overnight. We all want success but there’s no guarantee when.
Every team gets injuries, But this was probably our only chance of winning anything this season and he blew it for no good reason.

Once again we had to to watch the draw for the next round knowing we're not in it ..should have gone strong but he obviously couldn't give a toss for the fans

Again as I said earlier that’s fair enough , what’s our price now ?

I don’t think We’d have won it but I don’t imagine palace and the horse punchers thought they would win what they did . making wholesale changes that were a key factor in us going out has removed that 5% chance you quoted .

I’m just tired of consistently going out of cup comps early . There is absolutely a mentality right through this club that has brought us to the level where it seems to be acceptable that we shouldn’t try because we basically won’t win anyway
Agreed. I'm tired of our season being just about done in the first week of January.

As much as fans are not happy with Moyes’s selection, who said we’d have won the cup outright anyway? We played our lovable neighbours in the FA cup a few years ago when they played their kids. They still beat us. There are no guarantees however you treat competition’s seriously.

It’s for both. You get glory, a fat wedge and become more attractive to players.

At the end of the day, it’s all about building and raising the levels. Do that and the success follows.

We want sustainable success that can lead to a culture of excellence, not just a one-off cup win.
After 30 years i'd be very happy with a one off cup win

We’re not going to consistently get to the later stages of cups unless we can improve the squad further and that won’t happen unless we do well in the League. Without good League performance, we’re not going to have a good chance in the cups.

We could have a lucky run in a cup once in a while but we need to have a squad that is consistently getting to quarter finals if we want to start having real chances of winning something.
How quick people forget. Wigan won the FA Cup and got relegated.

I don’t think anyone is claiming that they are confident we would have won it outright or even that if we’d fielded out best 11 we’d have been gauranteed to beat Wolves.

But we would at least would improved our odds by a stronger squad and by going to the next round. Now we have zero chance of lifting the league cup. Personally I’d prefer it if we still had a chance to win it.

While this is true we could at least put in some effort into trying to win it, I'd rather see us get beaten going for it than waiving the white flag, we put out a stronger team in the previous round against a weaker side than Wolves, then against Wolves we put out the reserves... somebody please make it make sense.
