2025/26 David Moyes

We are currently perfectly safe and secure and stable in the middle of the richest, most lucrative sports league in the world (granted only a few games in), I highly doubt TFG will be anything more than mildly disappointed to be out of the least most relevant cup competition at an early stage. If their asset is 10th at the end of the season, I doubt they'll lose any sleep about the EFL cup.
Nothing is safe and secure. We ranked in the middle. But we can easily go down to the bottom if we cannot win the next 2 games. We can climb up to top mix if we win both of them.

We need the winning mentality

Sure, but lets be real: over the remaining 30+ games of the season, once the table starts to even out, we're pretty much going to be somewhere in the middle. I would happily wager there will be zero threat or chance of being down the bottom, likewise we're not going to be anywhere near the top. Mentality and reality might not be the same thing.

It would be much better if he kept Grealish in the starting XI and start Dibiling to see how they can connect while keeping our basic attacking structure.

It is game management 101.

Very angry to see he threw a game like this.

Now he must win the next game. For his own sake.

It's easy to be reactionary an hour after a poor result. yodavek was in his X-wing 10 seconds after the final whistle.
Tonight was bad, but it doesn't define the 8 months he's had.

Remember people complaining about Doucoure, Harrison, Lindstrom etc? We've gone from relegation fighters to expectation of league winners, quicker than any side in history, Moyes fault or the expectation holders?

Give the man a competent striker.
Not a single person. Not one.

Why are people so quick to slate the easiest way into the Europa League?

If we won the Carabao Cup and it went on to proper us into being a more attractive prospect to new players on account of being a European side again, would anybody outside of our fanbase remember how we achieved that success? No.

It's insane how certain fans are not bothered about us being dumped out of this cup while we're in the middle of a multi-generational famine of success.

Disgraceful by the manager there and shocking by a lot of those fringe players who will now rightly not get a second chance to impress any time soon.

Not even a hint of an apology.

Let’s hope that someone from above as a ‘quiet word’ with Moyes because the team selection, the preparation and the game management all had a lot to be desired.

An arrogant post match reaction is the icing on the cake.

One other point - I’d be nervous as hell if I had to play in front of Mark Travers. Who the hell approved that signing?

I’d take the carling cup and 20th place

I just want something to celebrate in my lifetime

He says “no regrets” about team selection. Really? Try telling that to 3000 fans and that took time off work and travelled to watch that shambles.
Need to look in the mirror David. You and the team not good enough tonight and honeymoon well and truly over.
Literally every Premier League team plays their squad players in the league cup. Otherwise they would never get a game. If you look at the team sheets you'll see players you didn't know existed. It's pretty much the only point in the competition. I think Moyes learnt quite a bit last night about how paper thin our squad is, and how limited we are in forward areas and midfield.

Who cares what other clubs do? This is not an excuse or a valid reason.

Many would actually then consider this is an opportunity.

The point in a competition is to attempt to win it, not to squad rotate. Stupidest thing I have ever heard.
