2025/26 David Moyes

He picked a team he thought could win the game, people have been calling out for Dibbers and Charly to get games and they got games, Barry also needed a run out and I thought McNeil was 1 of our better players in the past.

The team didnt win the game, despite us throwing on the A Team, we never looked like scoring tonight I thought.

Puts a tiny bit of pressure on the team for Monday so hopefully we can rise to it.

Calls for his head after 2 defeats are insane, but whatever makes people happy.

On we go.

This attitude ^^^^ is why we haven't won anything since 1995.

Making excuses for terrible defeats.

you think YOU
You would do well to do some research on Roma mate. This isn't Kenwrights Everton anymore, if you think TFG will put up with many of these types of performances, you are very wrong Matty. The best thing Moyes can do is just hold his hands up and admit he got it very wrong this evening from the word go and move on. However we can't be approaching the cup comps like that in future, if Newcastle and Palace can win them then so can we imo.

My opinion is that we are so desperate for a trophy. Everyone associated with Everton should know that straight away

So any manager who doesn't take a cup tie seriously, isn't the right person to lead the club. That's been my opinion for many years under many managers

I'm just extremely disappointed that Moyes showed the same lack of hunger to try win something. I can't look past that. I think its unacceptable and shows he won't be a success here.

Agree with this 100%.

Actually thought tonight would be different. No early season bad form or talk of a relegation battle meaning we need to "concentrate on the league". No game until Monday night. Manager, players, directors all talking about winning cups.

And we walk out with that team and those tactics and exit the competition with a whimper as usual.

It's the younger fans I feel sorry for who have never seen us win anything and will be in school tomorrow getting ripped with the usual "little old Everton" and "30 years".

Or if Pickford got shrunk to the size of a carrot, or if aliens landed on the pitch, or if a mega earthquake followed by a mega tsunami destroyed the west coast of England. Reactions to completely hypothetical scenarios are utterly pointless unlike the reaction to actually going out of the cup in real life which should be one of great disappointment to all Evertonians.
Players will inevitably get injured. Then you bring in your reserves. But resting fellas who will only play one match a week for the vast majority of the season is nonsense. He was entitled to make a few changes tonight - but he went much too far.

No guarantee we would be ahead.
That just about sums it up .

Lets just play our totally finished captain at left back , give a run out to McNeil who is absolutly turd , leave Gana out to give Tim some minutes.
Even Pickford should have played.

No guarantee we would be ahead , but let's give ourselves a bloody chance first.
Manager got it badly wrong tonight.

again it’s not about this game - it was turd

everyone seen that.

but to say sack him is idiotic

We've probably missed out on the first big atmospheric game at the new stadium

Do you think the circumstances may be slightly different this season....?
We all wanted a cup run, I want us in one every year which is why I hate going out of them, but I’d never will a manager to deliberately tank one, and I genuinely don’t think that’s what Moyes set out to do tonight

It’s so annoying because I want Moyes to do well here and he’s got such a good opportunity with finally having some good financial backing and then he throws a week like this out. He’s his own worst enemy the really is. A completely self inflicted wound that will take a long time to recover from now. I thought we’d be absolutely flying going into West Ham and Palace at home but now he’s basically turned the West Ham game into a must win. How tf has he taken the mood from where it was after the first Wolves game to where it is now in a few weeks?!

Its been a shocking week from him as usual when it matters most.

1st half of the Derby unacceptable and today was just inevitable once we all seen the team sheet.

We needed to score first and come out of the traps and we just sat back and let Wolves get a bit of confidence
