And who thought Alison Janney had the protagonist chops to carry the evil doer threat in a sci fi film? Someone spent a lot of money on this tripe.

An affront to cinema.
She’s much better at comedy. Anna Faris’s mother in that sitcom ‘Mom’ comes to mind.

Although, she does have an Oscar for best supporting actress in that movie ‘I, Tonya’ believe it or not! 😳

She's very solid, she can do presence and likeability, small part in american beauty, and a regular scene stealer in 'the west wing'. This casting screams 'I want a few quid into the pension pot ta'.

believable, unhinged maniac. 10 lump hammers out of 10.

The movie where she won the Oscar for best actress. 👍

And incidentally, Bates also helped Jack Nicholson win the Oscar for best actor in ‘About Schmidt’, because of that hot tube scene, you know, the one where’s he’s exposed to her gigantic naked rear end, and has to act his way out of it!

Not a film but went to see Harry Hill last night at the Grand Theatre in Blackpool.

Loved him years ago, but I left a little disappointed.

Used to love that kind of silly comedy so maybe it’s me and my comedy tastes have changed a bit.

That said, I loved Tim Vine when I saw him last year.

First saw him in the Comedy Club in the West End about 30 yrs ago, when he was a virtual unknown.

He was a genius at that time and you could see then he was going to be massive, Bill Bailey was on the same bill and he was equally as funny.

Fast forward a few years and they`re both big stars, playing big theatres.

Harry Hill seemed to have lost the magic of the small venue ( still enjoyable ), where as Bill Bailey still had it.

I’ve seen Bill Bailey too, now he is proper genius.

Saw the new Demon Slayer film. It's an incredible spectacle, one that really pushes the visuals into a whole new realm. It's really breathless stuff, with no let-up or lull, and there's so much going on in the two and a half hours-odd that it runs for. Sets things up nicely for the second part. Wish I'd seen it at the IMAX, really, as the sound design is also fantastic.

Yeh can’t wait to go see it when I’m home from my holiday. Just bloody hope they’ve sorted out the subtitles at my Vue!

Walker (1987)
Satirical drama (or something like that) with Ed Harris. It's got an average score of almost 8/10 on Letterboxd. Guess it just wasn't for me. At least the americans were portrayed as the swine they've been throughout history. Still, not a very good movie. Visuals were mostly good, but I think they forgot to use mics for the dialogue, the score was awful and all over the place, and the story never managed to grab me. 4/10
