i would welcome him back with a double vodka bovril to the face. (my favourite winter tipple at the match)

i have always wondered what it would be like if the rat returned but i think the minute he kissed the manure badge in front of the Toffees that stopped him ever being welcomed back.

COYB

He was stood right in front of me when he did this. Made me laugh as he had a rye smile on his lips. It's all panto villain stuff and anyone who takes it more serious needs to ease up a bit.

If he came back I'd take him. Moyes said recently that he thinks Rooney will come back one day. I agree with him. Once Fergie retires I'd expect Rooney and Ronaldo to be moving on, might not be immediately back to us but I'd say within 8 years.

he has not improved at united and is badly overshadowed by ronaldo. washed up at 26.

I'll agree though as I was thinking this very recently that he hasn't really changed or progressed at all.
He was becoming a better player under Moyes, but it looks like he moved on, learned to temper his anger but has not really hit the highs that his talent promises. Same player as when he left us except without as much passion.

I dont know about that, he's one of the best players in the world, certainly one of the most feared to play against, it all depends on how high your hopes were for him initially. How good did you expect him to become?

I doubt he is one of the best players in the world. Don't believe the hype. His reputation works wonders for him.

I honestly think he still has massess of talent that he hasn't realised yet.

Your kidding yeah? You dont serioualy believe that he's overshadowed by Ronaldo do you?

If you were to ask any manager in the world, if given the choice and money no object, who they'd take, Rooney or Ronaldo, it would be Ronaldo everytime.

Rooney's good, no doubt about that but Ronaldo's on a totally different level and scores for fun. He makes it look easy.

In my opinion (emphasis on "opinion") I believe that Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world right now.

Its not the hype i'm listening too Ichigo, its what I see with my own eyes, love him or hate him Rooney is an incredible footballer and there are not if any better than him, he has dips in form but name one player that doesnt.

Sure Ronaldo might be scoring all the goals at utd right now, but we've always known thats not what Rooney was going to do, he plays everywhere and anywhere on the pitch. But if you were gonna make a top five list right now Rooney and Ronaldo would probably be on most peoples.

Well I did say theoretically:P And you didnt answer my question?:)

If we were to go down then i'd rather face the drop with pride rather than further feed his already over inflated ego with his theoretical desire to become our saviour.

Agreed.

Seriously, youd rather the club be plunged into ruin?

OK I'll shut up now, it was a theoretical question after all.:)

In theory, we'd bounce right back, bigger, stronger and more the wiser for not allowing that [Poor language removed] turd the opportunity to piss all over the Everton badge like he so majestically did a few summers back.

Who bounces back bigger and stronger these days though? Relegation is disaster for most.

I'd agree with that.

Look at Charlton for recent evidence.

It's one thing if you're a Juventus and keep most all of your players.

Can anyone look at recent history and find if there are any teams that had been in the Premiership for an extended time, get relegated, and then immediately jump back up and stay for another long period?

I figure it's happened at least once. I just don't know the history like many of you do.
