I just don't accept there are no players out there right now who are available and would improve. I don't accept any of these excuses. Everyone knew the situation with our squad months ago and it seems that no planning or preparation were carried out.

It’s looking like absolutely no planning for this window took place until the end of May when Hammond and Kinnear were officially announced.

If brownhill is so good, why haven’t half the premier league teams been In for him? And some haven’t even bought a player yet or at the most 1. IE Fulham, palace, West Ham

Couldn’t agree more. I know Thelwell left the club and we have a relatively new football operations team, but Moyes has been here since jan, we knew which players were out of contract, yet still no RW or RB. All the impetus of moving to a new stadium is being taken away with our recruitment or lack of.

He would be a starter currently because James Garner appears to be a nailed on starter at this point.
Isn't that what people have been moaning about Everton for years though? We have a starter that isn't good enough so we should sign this player because they're better but still not good enough? Doesn't compute.

No, we’ve consistently bought players that are worse than our current starters or players we’ve sold. If we’d been bringing in players marginally better this whole time then we would’ve improved wouldn’t we? It actually computes perfectly.

Weird isn't it. We couldn't buy any players for the last five years because we had no money to spend. Now we have money to spend and we still can't buy any players.

It's almost like we're a really badly run club, isn't it?

I can see this going right up to deadline day. There isn't anything at all at present to suggest something is in the pipeline let alone imminent. We'll get some patchwork of loans then and Kinnear will do another interview on Sept. 2 citing exceptionally difficult market conditions and they wouldn't do bad deals.

They have to find some way to address the problems they've faced, they will be facing the same ones every time.
