Transfer Rumour Thierno Barry

Decent profit for Villarreal, assuming we’ll be paying North of about £25mill if a deal can be agreed, they paid €14 mill a year ago.
Good position to be in. If they rate him and think he'll continue to develop into a top player, they refuse to sell him for less than the release clause while offering him a new contract doubling both his salary and release clause.

If they don't see the hype and think his market value has peaked, they will go into negotiations with Everton and sell him now. To maximize profit.

That said, I am sure they back themselves to replace him. As it will be the 3rd summer in a row where they sell their number 9 for massive profit.

I agree he was raw but I don't remember anyone describing him as that at the time. Just something I've noticed.
It took me 30 seconds to find this. Let’s not make calling a young player “raw” something that it isn’t. It’s a term used in every sport for a common description of any player who has talent but isn’t a polished product.

Relax man, it was a tongue in cheek comment. Not that one counter example would disprove the general thesis though. John Travolta has also been described as being good at dancing.

Looked quick at Basel. Think he looks really promising myself. Although I don’t watch La Liga, it also bodes well that he has performed well instantly when stepping up to a much bigger league. I'd be excited if we can pull this transfer off tbh.

Yeah like the look of him, looks awkward and skilfull at the same time which I know sounds weird, very direct and pacy, exciting to watch. The only but is he might take time to settle, we may have to be patient to see the best of him. Look at Beto, not everyone's cup of tea, but even his biggest detractors have to admit he's improved immensely over this last season. It's helped that the manager has played him regularly as well.

Careful now, you'll have someone saying being quick for Basel will mean nothing in the Premier League :hayee:
