I doubt Moyes would want someone so inexperienced as a direct replacement for Gana, but it could be this kid plus an older head I guess, maybe someone like Ndidi.

We’re apparently looking for a 6 type even if Gana stays so would make sense to sign the young lad regardless.

Same esp when you look at the options he has a cm is just tim and garner armstrong very little experience

Atangana has had the cliche "new Kante" said about him. Far too easy to be branded that these days imo.

They won’t move for another rb now: tete, o brien , Coleman, Patterson.

Desperate for some cover the other side through and probably another centre back. Wonder if there’s any free/cheap options for someone who could play cb and lb? Then lash all the cash we have in the attacking areas and a new starter in midfield.

Think you’re right, ironically the only player I trust to cover a game or two at RB is O’Brien - though I’ve been pretty clear on my unease at viewing him as long term right back cover when he is very much a center back. I don’t want him getting lost in the rotation like Godfrey because of ‘utility’. Just my opinion on that though.

Yeah you are right . I hope O Brien will turn out more like Lescott then Godfrey and make the transition to his best position once Tarky slows down or Branthwaite leaves.

Might not be mate just that’s the way it came across. He looks very similar to Gana stylistically but maybe the plan is to hopefully hold onto Gana for another year so funds can be spent elsewhere.

Trying to guess how much we can spend this summer is futile for any of us realistically. Some difficult decisions will need to be made though, and some clever business like Tete.

Can imagine we’ll be looking at a couple of other free agents.
