Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Just a quick question, which of Woltemede or Barry would better suit Everton?
I haven't seen either play and what I have seen is on the unreliable you tube feeds

Stats-wise last season Woltemade seems slightly better than Barry. Would you say La Liga is more competitve than the Bundesliga though?

Woltemade can play off the front as well, so imaging having them both!

As there things often come down to small margins, I will say Woltemade, as he is one inch taller at 6'6". :D

Woltemade for me by a country mile. Far more of a finished baller and team player imo, and seems to have enough in his armoury already to have a far better chance to adapt to life in the premiership.

Scouting department need to earn their money , plenty of good talent around South America for example. Those teams are showing up the European teams for spending over the odds on mediocre players all the time and proving it in the world club cup . Problem is agents have their tentacles all over the owners and prem clubs so we'll be one of the clubs paying over the odds for players like Tierno Barry when we could pick up a player as talented from Brazil for half the price . (Igor Jesus or Plata for example)

I was under the impression that Woltemade was a 2nd striker but hes had a similar record last season at CF as well. At least according to transfermarkt:

So perhaps a head to head comparison is needed after all?

Genuinely for me it comes down to who we can get cheaper.

I think formation-wise you can do a lot more with Woltemade, he can go in the 10 and Beto can go up top, with Alcaraz & Gueye in midfield, or put Alcaraz in the 10 and play Garner & Gueye in midfield with the on form striker up top.

He excites me more tbh. I think Barry has a higher ceiling but is a way bigger risk with less opportunities to play.

Moyes is getting set for a Fellaini formation mark 2 Isn’t he

Those teams are halfway through their season so peak fitness, European players have had a full season and should really have their flip flops on.

Saying that I agree, there are some tasty players

You can't just go by goals and assists there's other factors that play into it, a lot of people who have watched woltemade have mentioned he seems to be more convincing as a 10 than as a 9 especially when considering the demands of the premier league. People who have watched him stated he's not great in the air despite him being 6'6. Barry on the other hand looks really impressive in the air and from my eyes seems to be a natural poacher in the box
