Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Again maybe it's just me I am loathe to take United players on loan, or anyone of the big club players, you pay a premium for them and they are surplus to requirements for a reason. He has never impressed me anytime I have watched him, not great in the air, with his feet, isn't particularly quick and does not seem to be a natural goalscorer. The only thing I like about him is that he works hard, but that should be a requisite anyway.
I'm not that keen either, Utd players tend to be on high wages too. He hasn't inspired me anytime I saw him but may be available on loan which could be interesting if there is an option.

I'd usually agree, but you look at the players they have got rid of or loaned out recently, and its obvious its the club thats the promblem

McTominay - won the league at Napoli
Antony - 9 goals 5 assists in 26 games at Betis
Rashford - 5 goals 6 assists in 17 games
Wan Bissaka- Hammer of the year
Dean Henderson - FA Cup win, now the 2nd best goalie in England
Anthony Elanga - excelled at Forest

The only one that didn't pull up trees was Sancho, but I'd say its hard to get a run of games in such a big squad

Thats half a team of good performances

I never mentioned Greenwood as they sold him as they had no other choice, it would of been a PR disaster

Largely agree with this but with the caveat that he was great at Atalanta, he looked the real deal. If it was just him playing poorly at United, then I'd swerve. But so many are underperforming which leans me towards the whole club being in disarray. Perhaps just too many square pegs in round holes, the result of a very disjointed transfer policy. Similar to us in lots of ways. Look how Lookman has thrived elsewhere, ironically at Atalanta.

Fair reply similar to @Raino85 the main point being that United have been a train wreck for years, loads of different managers, similar to us really. Though the way we finished last year with Moyes, new owners, new stadium, things looking up.

Shall we expect to see things picking up pace next week given the 1st of July will be one week away?
Nope.

Teams will return from holidays and preseason training will start early July, meetings will be held, bids will be made, so whilst the media might make up more stories, im not expecting any real movement till 2nd week of July.

That doesnt mean we wont sign anybody before then, deals are being worked on daily.

I will be judging the recruitment on the squad we have available for the first match, rather than in September. Plenty of time still to build the squad but I don't want to see all our business in the last week of August.

Yes. If for no other reason than PSR turns into a new year. However, if the club are doing any sort of business right now (other than player lists & interests), the deal probably wont get 'completed' until 1st july, but could all be done and announced with the future date set so.

For logical reasons, I cant imagine Moyes and the club wanting to have to do 7-10 player deals in a window of late july to late august.
