I know it’s probably rubbish, and we get linked every single window, but I did wonder if we’d go after a high profile US player after the comments made about the importance of America to our commercial strategy.

Brownhill wasn’t much of a difference maker for Burnley in the PL

Our central midfield is about to be deprived of Doucoure and Mangala. Gueye has yet to sign, but probably will do, and Garner only has one year left on his contract and spent half of last season out with injury. So we badly need several central midfielders.

I think Brownhill will be a decent addition. He’s in the same bracket as Garner and James McCarthy, who some people went totally OTT about. They were probably the same people that raved about Ben Godfrey, and became incredulous when Godfrey wasn’t selected for a World Cup Squad lol.

It’s about squad building this summer with so many additions required. Not every signing can be a world class fancy addition.

Happy to add the likes of Brownhill & Walker on frees so longs it’s balanced with a couple of high potential youngsters.

People need to be realistic. I’m not saying accept mediocre but just that the process has to be trusted.

No way are we spending huge money this summer. I think we’ll spend around 100m which in today’s world is nothing.

Spot on. Plus Liverpool have always had a premium for their players, i.e Jordan Ibe £15m for what...

Funny I googled him last year, his name was brought up, so thought I’d look at his career. He was playing for Hayes & yeading now moved on to Hungerford at 29
