Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Quansah £40m..... No way
In fairness, Southgate and Tuchel allowed his price to massively inflate by deeming him better than Branthwaite. His sale will in turn reduce teams' valuation of Jarrad because "If Quansah at 22 years of age is sold for 30-40 million, and he's amongst the top four or five options for England at centre half, how on earth can Everton value Branthwaite, also 22 but not even selected for his country, at even a penny more, never mind 70-odd million?".

No surprise really is it that the status quo seldom changes. Just wait until they sell Nunez for 80 million in a few weeks, then Diaz for 100 million to Barcelona.

On the contrary, I think Brownhill will be an excellent signing. It's about building a strong squad, not cherry picking overpriced, over the hill galacticos. Think about Peter Reid, Trevor Steven, Kevin Sheedy, Paul Bracewell, Tim Cahill, Seamus Coleman, Leighton Baines, Steven Pienaar, Lee Carsley et al. How many of those Everton legends were household names before they were part of our two most recent successful squads? I'd go so far as to say that in terms of effect, Brownhill will be akin to that of Tim Cahill.
Brownhill was terrific in the championship this year in fact his 18 goals were a huge part of Burnley getting promoted and always showed up in crucial games. He is 30 this December which goes against him.

Its 4am…its too warm to sleep!

I must have gone through a good 70 odd pages of this thread and having reached the end…come to the view

A) works getting nothing from me tmrw

B) I get the fume & frustration of the transfer window…as we seem to be linked with everyone. Plus ppl are desperate for anything they will believe its true…the good, the bad & the ugly.

Although considering the appointments TFG are making behind the scenes. No reason to believe we won’t get good players over the summer.

Off to bed to try and sleep…wish those birds would shut the f’up though 💤

We'll be in nuclear fallout soon enough so transfers won't matter.

Great post.

Quansah and JB different players.

I don't think anyone's doing that kinda dough for those two Reds, though. Maybe 40 and 60 tops (not that we even care!).

Jarrad needs to stay put, great couple of seasons, see us solid top half/ europa and if then it's more obvious to everyone he's the 80-100m player r think he is so be it.

Any club can ask for any amount of money for any player. Nobody has to buy at that price.
What is surprising is that other Clubs seem to be happy to pay over the odds for average squad players the RS want to sell. They are never worth the cash. Just insane that people will pay those amounts.

We rarely ask over the odds for a player, and rarely get anywhere near the price we set. Then again more often than not everyone knows we desperately need the money and the player very publicly wants to move.
