2024/25 Seamus Coleman

I'm not sure this is the compliment he thinks it is. Being the architect of the club's culture over the last ten years isn't a great achievement.

It's a culture that's celebrated mediocrity and sentimentality, home to the old boys club and mercenaries on and off the pitch.

I'm not blaming Seamus solely. He was a cracking player at his peak and his ability to influence what's gone off the pitch is limited.

But the culture of being nice, not standing up for ourselves has been a reflection of his leadership on it.
Yes I like Seamus and truly appreciate his time with Everton as a player——I think it is obvious that his best days are long gone as a player and now keep him on as a coach, he’s got his badges, let him work his way up the ladder if he’s good enough he’ll prove it— time will tell.

….39yo, always injured yet Brighton have extended James Milner’s contract. We don’t know what these type of players offer to a club but it’s obviously something considerable.

Whether Coleman signs a playing contract or not doesn’t really matter in the least to me.
We do. Manager after manager, player after player tell us.

You’re familiar with the old sectarianism thing?
It didn`t stop Mo Johnson signing for Rangers. And the Rangers lot forgot he was a catholic when he started banging in the goals for them.
But I can`t see them ever taking to Seamus, especially as he`s always injured until he goes off to play for Ireland, and then comes back injured.

Has a current of former captain of Ireland played for Rangers?

Perhaps so…. I’m not saying it’s impossible. But the odds are that the majority of Irish players wouldn’t fancy it.
