Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Think its more down to us not having a squad atm.

So now what limited resources we have will be spread even thinner trying to replace players like keane and DCL in the squad. Even though neither of them should be first team players.

Why would we spend money on players to be squad players instead of on players to improve the first team and then making those the squad players? This idea that we have to bring in a 4th choice centre back is nonsense to me, we should be looking to bring in an upgrade on Tarkowski to make him the backup. Likewise we should be looking for an upgrade on DCL and not trying to find a crap 3rd choice striker to sit on the bench.

I think we’d all like that in theory, it’s purely down to whether it’s a practical option or not. If the moneys there to go and get a genuinely top class centre half on top of all the other things we need then of course we should do it, I just doubt that it is. All teams buy players to bulk out the squad, it’s not something peculiar to us.

If we’re bringing in a 4th choice centre back to sit on his arse all season then that player should be a free transfer and nothing else.

Because
1. We only have a limited budget
2. We are pretty strong at centre back
3. We need to prioritise our spend on other areas - striker , midfield and full back

Or the 80k a week we were spending on a 4th choice centre back can now be halved to 40k a week?

This is impossible. You need at least 8 homegrown players, and you’re never going to build a 25 man squad with 8 foreign players registered for at least three years before their 18th birthday.
You technically don’t need 8 homegrown players. You can have 0 homegrown players your registered squad would just be smaller. Or you can just find 8 victor anichebe’s.
