Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Yeh, so, every window, I explained we WOULD make signings and, we did every window except the one highlighted above, for which I held my hand up. I was right 90% of the time. Same with the relegation bedwetters, some starting in August, like the transfer bedwetters who start in May - they are just wasting their collective energy stating ' we go with what we got' or 'we are defo down' - when 90% of the time it was wrong.

People are different and show their love for our club in different ways, some are hyper optimistic some optimistic some on the fence and some feel the need to vent. Different strokes for different folks, I personally live in hope, but will still feel the need to vent now and again, it's no big deal, it's not what I'd call bedwetting, probably frustration, it's annoying for all fans when they see rivals making what they think are good signings, but no one knows what's going on in the background. My point is really can not see the point in name calling for the sake of it, just maybe respect other people's views may be different to yours, been guilty of it myself by the way I'm no Angel.

We are fans not accountants and it’s not our money, let’s just watch football for a change. Plus there is no way we would spend close to that amount if they joined so who cares.

Let’s just aim to have the best football possible for the money our ST costs
The reason we have been watching awful football for the last few years is because the fans demanded high profile rubbish on ridiculous wages, which had to be paid for.

Why is it that these days when searching for everton news on a normal Google search you get about 10 links under latest news with absolute tosh from unreputable sources with 99% made up garbage links to players.

Is there a way to only have reputable links show up?

Just don't bother googling. You're on GOT already, if there's any serious news it quickly becomes apparent on here. Even if there's a suspicion it's only a rumour, if the rumour seems believable it will quickly become a 'transfer rumour' thread. That's never an indication of something being 100% true mind, but it usually means people think there's posssibly at least a bit of substance to it.

Other sources of rumours that might be a bit more believable than what google throws up are places like the BBC, Sky, Telegraph, Guardian etc. Not saying they don't get things wrong or use clickbait techniques but they tend not to peddle complete crap on the daily like 'football insider' and so on.

I don’t completely disagree with you but we have a new stadium tripling our match day income and a naming rights deal that probably pays for a Sancho or Grealish wage on its own.

If we want to maximise the new stadium and actually take a step forward then we have to have a mix of buying prospects we can develop and taking good opportunities when they present themselves.

If we just stick to a pure model of buying young players like Chelsea we will be in a nightmare because 1) we won’t be able to get the top young talents 2) we wouldn’t have the experienced players to help them bed in and 3) the PL won’t do us any favours with the rules like other clubs

Young talents wanting gametime or a faster pathway to premier league football than the top sides can provide should be the main focus.

I've been using NewsNow for about 20 years I'd say. You can just filter out the clickbaity sites and stick with the more reliable sources.

However, since Twitter kind of took over stuff is usually posted on there and reposted here before anything shows up on reputable sites, which kinda makes NewsNow redundant in some ways. But I don't use twitter and this place can have pages of guff with posters on their contrarian crusades and it's easy to miss actual rumours

Agreed! It is very hard not to react when the same posters post the same, premature negativity time and again. However, it is their forum also, need to let them get on with it.
Can I use some sort of emoji to get it off my chest? Better than bed wetters for sure.

💦 perhaps?

haha - I jest

I doubt it is tbh. Could be wrong but can see us trying to get a stop gap for a year and spending money elsewhere.
Only way I see it making sense is as you say if we’re looking to spend money on other positions. And if we’re keeping hold of Beto and DCL and want Antonio as 3rd choice.

however I’m not sure id fancy signing someone who’s just come back from what he’s been through from a medical standpoint.

Maybe if we'd have been run competently in the last few years we could have splashed the cash a bit in this extra window? Is it worth remembering that we've very much got one eye on PSR compliance and that's entirely the fault of the previous ownership? Is it pretty obvious why we're keeping our powder dry until post June?

Good old Mosh probably would have got all giddy at an extra window, spent a load of money and then had a fire sale in the next window; desperately scrambling around for somebody to take Patterson, Chermiti and Iroebugnam, before flogging McNeil to Leeds at 7pm on deadline day with no more incomings.

Maybe the Friedkins should have acted a bit like Mosh would have eh? It's not like there's ever any repurcussions.
