Tbh Im also hopeful it wasnt true. I know I'm in the minority but I want him to stay. Still think he has abilities that are useful to the team and is a couple of goals away from finding a new lease of life under a new manager and new stadium, both of which could easily be elsewhere.

I don't need my Mrs fighting my battles for me, especially in a very public setting where it could come across as ungrateful/deluded about my importance to the fanbase & the club, and where you have 10,000+ pairs of eyes dissecting what's been written.

He will have other offers on the table. Currently he's giving Everton a chance to strike a deal out of loyalty to the club. It's up to the club to decide if they want to do so.

And therein lies the problem! That’s what Everton under Kenwright would almost certainly have done, and look where that got us!
No one should be getting a contract extension based on “loyalty”. Contracts and in particular any extensions should be based on performance, fitness, and value for money - loyalty shouldn’t be a consideration!

Well the context is important, and the context was me saying that she didn't 'call him a liar'. Saying something which you believe to be true but later turns out not to have been doesn't make you a liar, it makes you wrong. If he is a liar though, or she believes he is, then the underlying point is even more relevant.

Worth pointing out too that not true doesn't mean that he's not leaving, could still be leaving but the way the article is worded isn't true.

Battle, fight, delusion, ingratitude, importance?

You're reading a lot into somebody a lot closer than Joyce or those 10,000 pairs of eyes stating something isn't true than is warranted.

Who knows what messages he/she were getting after that story broke yesterday?

Seems to me you think she has no right to say anything about something that directly affects her life and that of her partner but the 10,000 pairs of hands plus Joyce get to type whatever pops into their head.
