2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

There are some right whoppers on here. Show some respect.

I have a Rolodex; sorry, "contact list" full of them that I've acquired over the years, if you want to befriend more.

We can all have different opinions but no need to be cruel.

I don't think anybody has been particuarly cruel. Fact of the matter is that him/his wife, and father for that matter, seem to have very thin skin and can't handle any criticism. He's in a cut throat world, and he's been paid in the region of £20 million in the last 4 years by our club and scored 17 league goals. Do they really expect universal praise for him? They're either very naive or just complete tits. Anybody who isn't consistently good for 10+ years will get criticised by somebody at some point. Dom has been consistently good for about 12-18 months so any stick he's had is par for the course really.

Can some criticism go over the top? Of course, but that's the world he's in, and he's been paid handsomely for it. I don't hate him as a player, I always try to back anybody as long as they appear to try, but he's not been good enough for 4 seasons now.

If he does end up signing a new deal before the month’s out then it just proves he’s had no other decent offers and we’re his last resort. Everton should be taking the offer off the table and telling him to swivel, no more being treated like mugs.

I mean we have no basis to say this whatsoever mate.

He will have other offers on the table. Currently he's giving Everton a chance to strike a deal out of loyalty to the club. It's up to the club to decide if they want to do so.

Nah, he's just being professional and is respecting the final few weeks of his contract. If he signs a new one on the 1st July, it means no one came in with enough to beat whatever our offer was. If he hasn't signed by now, then it means he's still looking at his options.

I don't knock it, he's a professional - that's what he is supposed to do. Don't wrap it up as some noble act of loyalty. Likewise if Everton are acting professionally, they should offer what they think it's worth to keep him. If the two parties line up, he stays, if they don't he goes.
