2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Something, something Dycheball
I hate Dyche , but let’s be honest, DCL has never been a natural finisher, and he never will be. Under Ancelotti, his strengths were maximised by playing to his strengths: getting him the ball in and around the six-yard box. When he’s fit, his hold-up play is excellent, and Dyche clearly valued that more than his goal output. But let’s not pretend he didn’t miss some absolute sitters this season, that's not on Dyche.

Good luck Dom, always gave his best, injuries took their toll, maybe it's best for both parties that he moves on, glad Everton did not have in to his wage demands though, we now need to move on and highlighted and better.

Very good lone striker, unplayable on his day, excellent at holding the ball up and allowing everyone to push up 10 yards. Also the least natural finisher I’ve seen play up top for us. For us to improve, and for him to feel loved somewhere, it’s not a bad thing he’s off to pastures new. Wish him all the best, and it’s a bit of a shame it’s ended this way.

Thanks and good luck Dom. I am really glad he is leaving tbh because he just wound me up way too much. The amount of chances he misses is mind boggling and there is always far too much off field drama going on with him which only diverts away from what is important. Playing football and trying to win things. Hopefully we will go all out now to finally try and buy a proper number 9 with Beto to back him up.

Chris Wood held the highest conversion rate in Europe for most of the season, might've finished with it, higher than Haaland and Salah etc
Dom's worst seasons were under Dyche, there is no denying it
I wasn’t comparing the Chris Wood at Nottingham Forest with Hudson-Odoi, Gibbs-White and Elanga supplying him - I’m comparing the one absolutely slogging it out at Burnley season in, season out, with a squad full of grocks yet still managing to bag double figures more or less every season to DCL under Dyche and who got absolutely nowhere near 10 goals.

Dyche is a chronic manager, there’s no denying that. But there’s also no denying that DCL had the chances to score more goals under him and he must accept his share of the blame for his failure to do so.

Not once was he unplayable.

Unless you are referring to his fitness
