Transfer Rumour Ben Doak

Plenty of buzz around him for a while. If it was possible to guarantee that the recent injuries aren’t indicative of recurring issues, then I’d go for it. But not £30m. Low £20’s, plus £5m add-ons if we win the quadruple, and Wimbledon. Can’t be blowing £30m on a player of any age that isnt first team ready on day 1, or is likely to miss a quarter of every season so we need to be very sure. Our £30m purchases need to either be nailed on starters and/or be worth £50m in 2 years to recycle them.

Mr Trivago got him quickly in around around the first team when he went there if that’s any indication, which probably wasn’t the original plan.
We have just bought Carlos Alcaraz so Wimbledon is a realistic add on

….i’d be genuinely concerned if he’s been out for a lengthy period due to a serious hamstring injury. If it was something else, fine but once a player has a really bad one they’ll often return.
Nowhere has said (that I can find) that it was a hamstring, all the reports state thigh injury which required minor surgery. If we are in for him lets hope this is the case.

Ive said it to others but Tom Fellows is just about the most Moyes signing Ive ever seen.
I think he was mentioned in a few previous transfer threads, though I can't remember if he was 'linked' or if it was that poster liked him. I was surprised he's still only 21 and even more surprised at his Alan Harper impression:

He’s lightening quick and an old fashioned winger who goes on the outside and beats his man. He’d be an upgrade on Harrison but a risk.

Relies massively on pace/acceleration to beat his man and he’s had muscle injuries that have kept him out for long spells over the last 2 or 3 seasons.

Missed a long chunk of season with Liverpool and then again with Boro last season. If he loses a yard even half a yard he’s not the same player.

You have just described Dan James
