behind the scenesWhat's worrying is there is next to nothing coming from the club to quell the rumours.
There has been next to nothing about a new contract for him.

Rather keep him but money talks unfortunately. If he goes to Spurs, that's a bad move for him. He can do better. But if Spurs meet the asking price he goes to Spurs.
Not listening to you...You had Delap holding up the kit under the tree at Bellfieldbehind the scenes![]()
I wouldn't hold it against the club IF it gets its pound of flesh in the right price for us.Not trying to be a knobhead (for once), but we're a midtable team, he has the potential to be the best defender in Europe, and 99% of clubs around the world are selling clubs. IF he wanted to leave, I wouldn't hold it against the club failing to keep him, it's the nature of modern football. I would dearly love to build a side around him though.
That won't happen. I'm not concerned about that sort of tabloid rubbish. Chelsea for 80-90mil is definitely on the cards. Defenders don't go for what forwards do, even though they should.I wouldn't hold it against the club IF it gets its pound of flesh in the right price for us.
But if he goes to Spurs for 40m then we might as well be run by Kenwright.
It had only taken Bill a decade to learn from the Rooney debacle.Remember this , it's from 10 yrs ago

We sold him to City for over £50 mil a year later.
80-90m gives us a decision to make. We can judge that decision then, but it gives us a decision. That won't happen. I'm not concerned about that sort of tabloid rubbish. Chelsea for 80-90mil is definitely on the cards. Defenders don't go for what forwards do, even though they should.

I’d much rather keep him and make him Captain one day, hence the word If, but if it’s got legs we need to get as much as possible.let’s NOT start a bidding war
and keep him
